Dr. Carmen Julia Botero, MD

I brought my son to Dr. Botero at Encino Pediatric urgent care for stitches in his foot. She was so comforting and caring. She did a thorough exam. My son was born with congenital heart disease so we have met a lot of doctors. Doctor Botero has an excellent bedside manner and I would deffinately recommend her.

She was lively, caring , and very informative. She cared about my son as well as myself. She educated me with the symptoms that my son had. She showed me references in books, allowed me to look and compare the swelling in each of his ears with her doctors tool. Brought out a magnifying glass to show me what her findings were on his skin. He is five years old and none of the pediatricians in the group that we go too ever took the time to show us anything through out the years. She also personally followed up which was amazing and out of the ordinary, our pediatric group has never done that.

Have asked repeatedly for a call back from the physician to explain the procedures billed for my 1.5 year old. Not once did I receive a call back. The office tells me that the doctors are not required to call patients back or obligated to explain the procedures done. I highly do not recommend this doctor or practice. Doctors should be transparent especially when dealing with your children. When they are not transparent for the simplest of things, this is alarming and should be reviewed and fined by a medical practices board for lack of transparency and trust.

We had to see Dr. Botero and had taken a brochure from my pediatrian's office. My dr.'s office and the urgent care office are right off across the street. Since my younger son already had the flu and was tested by our pediatrician. I was concerned that my older son may also have the flu. Since it was after hours and didn't want to go to the urgent care in Northridge(I live in Woodland Hills), I took my son to the Pediatric Urgent Care instead. I was very pleased the way Dr. Botero took a look at my 10 year old son. She had the best bedside manner for my son and he was not feeling well. He had a fever of 102. She tested him for strep and the flu. Since he was negative on all tests she went ahead and prescribed him Tamiflu. I highly recommend taking your child there since I know emergency room visits are expensive. My husband is a surgeon and knows how expensive it can be. I'm glad that there is an urgent care even though it's a little farther-I'm willing to drive.

Came here to have sutures done on my son after he suffered from a facial laceration. I was hesitant about having him undergo sedation ON TOP of the sedation. Dr. Botero was indifferent to my concerns. Her approach to patients is that they know nothing, and that her word is supreme. Who are we to question the doctor, right? I'm only paying your bill. Their web site says they are the "most cost effective way of dealing with your child's after hours medical needs." Really? Be warned that bringing your child here for stitches will easily run you $2,000. I don't know how different that is from going to an ER. There is a $75 fee for getting in the door you must pay up front before your child is seen. Then the doctor gets paid about $1000 and if you use anesthesia that will run you another $900 or so. This is WITH insurance. I'm not pleased with the service or cost effectiveness of this place. But most of all I am not pleased with Dr. Botero's attitude. After the procedure,… Botero did not follow up on my son's status. Scar did not heal properly despite the exorbitant bill. Not recommending this place to ANYONE.

I Took my daughter to Encino Pediatric Urgent Care, I was very happy with how sweet and caring was Dr Botero with my baby. I wish she has her own office, I would change my daughter right away, I higlhy recommended her!!!
