Satisfied with the visit

I can not say enough bad things about my experience with Dr. Stelea and her office. I have never met the doctor, but her staff is the worst I have ever dealt with and I feel that she is the same. I have two parents on hospice and needed to apply for FMLA. My father's doctor had the paperwork back to me with 72 hours filled out correctly. It took my mother's doctor, Dr. Stelea's office FOUR WEEKS to even start the paperwork. Keep in mind, the form is literally 1/1/2 pages long and many answers are yes/no. I left many voice mails asking when I would have the paperwork back and received no calls back. When I finally did get a call, again, after FOUR WEEKS, I was asked how I wanted the form filled out. I was livid! Have they never completed this form before? My father's doctor managed to fill out the form without asking for my input. It's really not hard. One of the questions on the form, in Dr. Stelea's handwriting, says "The patient's daughter refused to provide this information." My… mother is on hospice, dying. How about filling it out the way my father's doctor did? "The patient will require complete and total care." Many of the other questions were answered incorrectly. For instance "Was the patient admitted for an overnight stay in a hospital, hospice, or residential medical care facility?" Dr. Stelea answered "No". Sorry, Dr. Stelea, wrong answer. My mother was in the hospital for weeks, as well as weeks at a medical care facility. Another question - "Describe other revelant facts, if any, related to the condition for which the patient needs care." She left this question blank, like she has no idea about my mother's medical condition.

I was impressed with how thorough and professional this doctor was. I respect her straight forward, no sugarcoating style.

Dr Stalea took the place of Shanaz Husain who was my PC doctor for 30 years. I have confidence in Dr Stelea and will stay with her. She is detailed, thorough and pleasant

Dr. Carmen Stelea became my PCP when she replaced my previous PCP who retired. Through her caring and concern she has monitored my early stage pre diabetes in a manner that has demonstrated her professionalism. We have established a relationship that makes me feel comfortable in discussing all aspects of my health. Happy to have her as my "Go To" doctor.

The first time I visited Dr. Stelea, I was admittedly put off by her abrupt manner. She seemed unfriendly and overwhelmed. I decided to keep seeing her to give her another chance or two -- and this turned out very well. Initially, she is not warm and fuzzy, but she is very diligent and caring, and does smile! I find I can be very frank with her and she will be honest with me. I like that. She's okay with me.

My previous doctor retired after 35 years. I went for my physical as well as follow up appointments. I called her on two separate occasions for routine medicine refills. I went to the walk in to get the first one filled after I was told she needed to see me before she would call it in. She would be closed by the time I got out of work. One was an allergy medication and I called for a refill and on a separate occasion I called for a medication for my cold sores on my lip. She knew I took these and received them from my previous doctor. The first time the allergy medication would not be prescribed because she had to see me. The second time I called in for the medication for my the sore on my lip. I called at 9:30 am to ask, called back at 4:30 and I was told it was pending approval. It never got sent to CVS. I gave her more than one chance and I'm not going back. A doctor is supposed to help you not cause you more stress.

Dr. Stelea is great if you want to be in and out in time for work or your next appointment. If you want a doctor who reads through the survey questions efficiently with minimal fuss or comment, or has very little physical contact with you then Dr. Stelea is also the one for you. Personally I need more than someone who makes my daughter feel self conscious on her very first visit because she gained weight since her last physical (despite being underweight and nearly anorexic due to the extreme stress she had been under at that time)without ever asking her about any possibly life changes that might have accounted for the weight gain. I also need a physician who does more than immediately prescribe medication for a slightly elevated total cholesterol without suggesting a followup test first or ever asking me questions about my exercise , diet and lifestyle. If this sounds like someone you want to consult for your life or health issues then Dr. Stelea is the doctor for you.
