Dr. Carol B Benson, MD

Absolutely rude human being, 5 minute into meeting her, she was throwing a tantrum.

I felt especially reassured that Dr. Benson was the one scanning the issue in my pregnancy after researching her standing in the diagnostic imagery field. It is indeed true, to echo for a third time, that the bedside manner is not there; she is abrupt and direct. That said, I don't really care about that when I have the privilege of her expertise for the issue.

Dr. Benson is one of the leaders in the U.S. in fetal diagnostic imaging. She is the one the top doctors at the Brigham turn to when they have a complicated case. The other review is correct insofar as she is very direct and not particularly warm in her delivery of worrisome news. But at the end of the day, I am willing to sacrifice the bedside manner for the accuracy of the diagnosis, and in Dr. Benson's case, she is the best in her field. She delivered bad news to me just yesterday but I feel lucky to have been able to have her do my imaging.

For a veteran MD, she showed very little skills in delivering (bad) news. When she left the room, my wife and I were sitting there not knowing what to do. Unfortunately she confirm the stereotype that excists of radiologists...
