Dr. Carol Marie Brown, DO

I ordered numerous expensive tests, claimed all of my symptoms were thyroid and gluten related. Thyroid meds she ordered made me so ill, I ended up in an emergency room. She told me to start an extremely restrictive diet and to drink non-pasteurized milk and make my own yogurt. None of the off the wall things she tried worked. She was dismissive of any questions I had about her approach, and was not interested in actually helping.

I was a patient of Dr. Brown's for several years on the recommendation of another provider who knew I was looking for physicians who would be open to utilizing alternative medicine techniques. However, I left about 10 or so years ago when she had me bring in my medication bottles and held a swinging crystal over the top of them to determine their energy (she'd recently attended a conference workshop on the use of crystals). She indicated I should discontinue use of the medications in which the crystal showed reduced energy and continue with the ones that showed strong energy. I'm open to new ideas but this one was a little over the top for me. In addition the clinic did not accept any insurance and was quite expensive.

My teenage daughter has been a patient of Dr. Brown's for less than 6 weeks and we've seen huge positive results in that short amount of time. My daughter silently suffered (she never told us how bad she felt) after every meal. She went to a few GI appointments over the years - but no tests were done -the first GI Dr. said to stop drinking milk. Finally - our first consultation with Dr. Brown - she dove right into several tests - blood tests, gluten test, bone density, stool, urine. At first you're wondering if this is overkill - but after receiving all of the tests back - it gives her a clearer understanding on how the entire body is functioning. We had a second consultation to review the results. She dx my daughter with gluten intolerance + stay away from certain gluten free foods. Dr. Brown prescribed medicine/vitamins to help her inflamed intestines....within 2 days of taking the medication - my daughter said that she has never felt better. It's been a month since she… started and she still feels great. The only regret I have is that we didn't go to Dr. Brown sooner!

Carol misdiagnosed my mother with the flu and sent her home....in reality, my mom had a stroke. Beware of this incompetent 'doctor'.

I am tired of going to conventional doctors just to be told I am perfectly healthy. Dr. Brown is the first doctor to take the time to listen to my symptoms and identify some serious problems with my health. Through blood work and imaging Dr. Brown was able to address problems with my thyroid that I had no idea about! I'm starting off on supplements and already see an improvement in my overall well-being. I will gladly pay her fees to continue seeing a REAL doctor.

Her treatment is expensive. I am afraid she tends to over mediate people. Suggest any patient to do your own research before takes the supplements that she prescribe, and get a second opinion before investing a lot of money in the treatment that she recommends.

I’ve grown weary of medical protocol that treats symptoms and doesn’t address the root cause of healthcare concerns. Dr brown is a breath of fresh air. She demonstrates a keen awareness of the body and while she certainly looks at lab results, she isn’t bound by the numbers. She treats the entire patient and clearly explains everything in plain English. And she takes the time to really talk about how things. Yes, an appointment might not start on time. But you also won’t be rushed to conclude everything in 10 minutes either. She does not take insurance but she understands financial limitations and helps prioritize what needs to be done within the patient’s means. She truly has a calling to treat the whole patient. She is the first dr who took my hashimotos seriously. I had stopped treating for over 6 years because traditional medicine was boxed into a protocol that didn’t work for me. I actually feel pretty good for the first time in a decade—taking limited medications that directly… address my condition. She encourages patients to call if they have any questions or if treatment isn’t working. I had to and she immediately changed my thyroid hormone to a brand that worked better for me. She is caring, compassionate, empathic and extremely knowledgeable. I don’t need free access to healthcare that puts me in a box. This is an investment that even on very meager means like mine is worth every penny. Thank you Dr Brown.

I was a new patient at health specialties clinic and not Only was Doctor Brown 1 hour 1/2 late for my appointment but the receptionist took me back to a room and took a set of vitals with no scrub tops like the rest of the employees, I’ve never felt so uncomfortable.

I brought my son, who was diagnose with Autism, to see Dr. Brown and we had a great experience on our first visit. First impression, the office is clean and neat. The staff who greeted us at the front was really friendly and bright. All her staffs are great, but there is one particular MA who I can tell she really cares about the patients and she was really sweet. When we met with Dr. Brown instead of telling me that there is nothing we can do to help my son, or that he will never change, she listened to me and all of my concerns and even cared to know about my goals for my son. She was also really understanding of my son's condition and behaviors. After being treated for a week, my son's teachers and therapist notice a difference in my son's behavior and attention span. He is still making good progress with the help and guidance of Dr. Brown. Thank you for helping my son.

Dr. Brown treated my father for many years for cancer. At the end of his life when she should have been helping him accept his terminal condition, she gave him false hope and false information. This lead him to delay seeking additional treatment and sufficient pain medication. My father, emailed her twice right before the end of his life and she never responded. The treatment was very expensive and ultimately was not sufficient. Dr. Brown would have continued to give him more expensive, and still ineffective treatment, if he would have been physically able to come to her office.
