Dr. Carol Joann Featherstone, MD

I left feeling worse then when I came. She walked in looking down at the papers and said “well what am I supposed to do about this?” Without haven’t even said anything to me. At this point in already embarrassed and terrified. When I’m trying to talk she would cut me off mid sentence. She makes you feel stupid and terrible about yourself. She did nothing to help me. I cried the second I left there. TERRIBLE DOCTOR.

I will always recommend Park Nicollet clinics and have been a patient 19 years. I have developed great patient/doctor relationships with many doctors. I’ve had an ongoing health problem since just before Thanksgiving and the urgent care doctors, counter staff, nurses, lab techs, general practitioners, and Tria doctors all have been exceptional, friendly, caring and professional Except one bad egg... Carol Featherstone, has the most vile manner and talked down to me and humiliated me in my UC visit... I couldn’t get in to a GP/FP doctor so I returned to urgent care to get my antibiotics extended so I had time to get in and not risk things getting worse. I had been told in the ER that I had an infection in my joint and to recheck with my dr if it didn’t resolve. She told me I couldn’t have an infection because the imaging didn’t show any fluid and if the ER doc really thought it was an infection I would have been admitted and put on IV antibiotics. She talked down to me like I was in… kindergarten and criticized me for not making an appointment with my primary the moment I was released from the ER (a Sunday). She had me in tears and then had the audacity to try and help me with my jacket and then completely humiliated me by escorting me to the counter and telling the woman I needed to schedule with my primary. The wonderful woman at the counter gave me the number to file a complaint and they were also very helpful and apologetic. I was gonna just let it go until I had my symptoms get worse and was put back on antibiotics Christmas Eve to give me time for a follow up with the Orthopedic Surgeon that ordered my contrast MRI. New Years Eve I was informed by that surgeon that what was originally an infection in my joint had spread to the bone and that I will need surgery to remove the infection including some of the bone followed by 6-8 weeks of IV antibiotics & no driving during that time... I trust the surgeon’s assessment because he came highly recommend by someone who used to work for Park Nicollet but as anyone who is facing a recommendation of surgery, I am getting a second opinion from a specialist who’s also in the Tria/Park Nicollet network. I don’t care how many years experience Carol has or if she was having a bad day, you don’t treat people that way and she couldn’t have been more wrong!

I was seen recently by Dr. Featherstone in an Urgent Care Setting following a head injury from a fall. She was professional, friendly, and--most comforting of all--extremely calm and thorough. Thank you!

I had Dr. Featherstone when I went into urgent care a while back when I was pregnant with my son. I went to another clinic complaining of moderate cramping and they told me to expect a miscarriage when I couple days past and I still had the cramping I went into urgent care in maple grove to get a second opinion on what was really going on. Dr. Featherstone went above and beyond to help get to the bottom of what was happening, she is absolutely one of the best doctors I've ever seen! She seems to really care for her patients and really wants to help them feel better.
