Dr. Carol Ruth Guthrie, MD

I had an appointment Day after breast surgery. We were the first appointment but we ended up waiting for 1 1/2 to 2 hours to be seen. I could see her in her office on the computer. She finally came in to the room and congratulates me for not having the cancer spread when in fact 3 of 4 nodes were positive. I didnt feel comfortable continuing with this office. This happened about 5 years ago an$ I finally felt the need to share the experience.

Very professional office. Dr Guthrie is kind, proficient, and communicative.

Experienced, well thought of in community, good follow up. Asks lots of questions, and wants to know how you feel and and what you want.

Dr Guthrie is the best surgeon and the most compassionate and kind in our area and probably the nation. The reason she falls behind in her schedule so often is that she spends A LOT of time with every patient. There is no other surgeon who could be so skilled and gracious and kind. I felt from the very beginning of a diagnosis and a journey that no one wants to hear or take that I was with a trusted friend. I totally trust her and recommend her.

Left in exam room 70 minutes with no contact. Staff laughing outside door. Never again!

My normal wait was 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Even when I was the first appointment after lunch. This happened several times. I had to wait about 3 hours after my scheduled surgery time. It was so late the recovery room closed and I was sent to the floor to recover. I am sure she is very smart but I would never go to her again. I felt like it was very rude and no "I'm sorry" from her.

One of the kindest, campassionite, highly skilled Doctors I have ever met. Too bad she doesnt do primary care.

This Doctor was very helpful to me and my family at a very difficult time. She would answer questions directly and respectfully. She often would squeeze me in for an appointment which meant waiting but also meant my needs were met.

Has no understanding of a woman's needs facing a difficult diagnosis. Is totally overworked in her office. Does not take women's complaints ar requests seriously.
