Dr. Carol Jagdeo, MD

By far the worst and rudest doctor I've ever visited. Firstly, you have to wait 2 hours when you get there just for her to make an appearance and she comes in very unprepared and talks to you for 15 minutes max before leaving, one visit she wasn't even there and had her office manager conduct it for her. She does not call for the bloodwork like she says, and I called the office and asked about billing, they told em to talk to her, when I asked Dr Jagdeo about it, she started screaming that she doesn't deal with billing and essentially asked me to find a new doctor. If that wasn't bad, she started yelling at her office managers for not dealing with it directly and she hung up on me. Horrible experience, I immediately cancelled any future appointments

I switched to this doctor after moving to DC but am in the process of moving again and changing doctors. I wanted to get my physical (I'm definitely due) before making these two major changes, so I decided to schedule an appointment. I should start by saying this is not the first time I've reached out to this doctor for an appointment. The very first time (in 2019) no one answered the phone. The second time (in 2020) I was sent to voicemail.I left a message but no one ever returned my call. This time I did get someone on the phone but the woman explained to me that I had to bring in my entire medical history because I was a new patient. I thought that was odd because usually you fill out a form when you come with your medical history. I explained this to her and she eventually said she'd just have the office manager call me. A few hours later the office manager reached out. I essentially gave her the same response I did the first woman with the addition that I had only seen my last… doctor once and he didn't have any records on me. She offered a few dates for a physical. None of the dates worked because (1) work and (2) moving hence the change in doctor . I asked if she had anything sooner, and she informed me they did not. I knew I wouldn't be able to get anything scheduled with the doctor but I told her I'd just try scheduling later. Then, I attempted to thank the office manager for her time when she cut me off with a grunt (odd, I know) and hung up the phone. Needless to say, she was rude. Her combined with my other attempts to contact the office (when I was planning on being in the area for a long time) have led me to the conclusion this place is unprofessional and I'm happy to be changing doctors. The change was out of convenience for my move but now I'm certain I'm not missing anything either.

Refused to sign a death certificate!

Dr. Jagdeo may have long waiting times, but it is worth the wait. For me she was thorough and doesn't like to give a lot of drugs unless necessary. She talks to her patients and that is the reason for waiting. I think it is shameful that folk are trying to drag this doctors' good name in the mud.

We went to Dr. Jagdeo a few times to see if we wanted to use her as a Primary Care Physician. Every time we went she was late, one day we showed up at 10:00 for our appointment and there were 2-3 other people also wating. Dr. Jagdeo showed up around 10:30 wearing dark sunglasses acting like she was a rockstar, no apologies to anyone for being late. When we were admitted, we were put in a depressing holding cell and our vitals were taken by an assistant that didn’t know how to type or spell (for example, she spelled needles “niddles”), so it would take for ever and she seemed to have no knowledge of medicine (this was true on all occassions, except for the 3rd time there was an assistant that was a bit more competent). When Dr. Jagdeo would finally come in we would have to repeat all the information we just relayed to the assistant. Dr. Jagdeo seems competent enough, but she doesn’t listen. She just gives the same speech she gives to everyone else, like we were just part of her assembly… line. She ordered all sorts of tests for us that we probably didn’t need and then on the third trip demanded that we give her a copy of our will, which we thought was weird. My wife brought her entire medical history on the second trip and Dr. Jagdeo said she wanted to hang on to it to make a copy, but a month later when we went back she had mispplaced the file. When we asked for it back, she said she needed to look for it and still needed to make a copy of it. Even when we demanded to have it back, she refused to give it to us. She absolutely refused, when we demanded repeatedly. And when my wife asked her for a letter of her health status that she needed for work, Dr. Jagdeo wouldn’t give it to her. For both my wife and I, seeing Dr Jagdeo was a terrible experience, and we really regret not doing more research (if you look on Yelp you will see she consistenly gets 1 star ratings).

I have been seeing Dr. Jagdeo for several years, and until recently, I suffered the long waits because I felt that my medical needs were being satisfactorily addressed. As my health needs have changed, I have become increasingly disappointed with the wait times, and the attention my issues are given. That 'personal touch' is gone, and now, so am I.

miserable experience. required extensive scheduling attempts, repeated visits, and overpayment for a routine examination. never again.

I would never recommend this office to anyone. My rating applies to the overall efficiency and professionalism of the office staff and Physician's Assitant, since in the three years I've been a patient (due to insurance coverage only) I have NEVER seen Dr. Jagdeo. The wait time at this office is appalling. I typically wait about an hour before even being called into the exam room, where I continue to wait another 10-15 mins. The care given is usually sufficient, but I've only been in for minor illnesses. The majority of my frustration comes from my experience of trying to get a prescription refilled. I had to call multiple times over the span of a week to even get a call back. The nurse who finally returned my call, was curt, brash, and unprofessional. After waiting a week, she ultimately prescribed me the wrong medication forcing me to begin the tortuous process all over again.
