Dr. Carol Mitchell Johnson, MD

Not sure about diagnosis or follow up yet as we just started seeing her, but so far we like what we see!

Dr. Johnson is good but her staff is horrible. The do NOT return phone calls regarding prescription refills. Twice now they have failed to call in prescriptions give to me at the time of the visit and then when I call to ask why, I leave a message and the never called me back. I had to make a second call to them to get them to do their job.

Need a prescription refilled? Going to the emergency room would be quicker. I like(d) Dr. Johnson but nurses and staff seem to think you have nothing better to do than sit in the wait room. Office makes 7am appt KNOWING Dr will not be in until after 9am (or whenever she feels like showing up). Asked about that and they said it was to 'get in line' to see the Dr. 9am appts not typically seen until 2pm or so. Have since changed doctors

I was very impressed with her...her bedside manner was wonderful and my two adult daughters were also impressed. She gave us plenty of time to ask and answer questions.

I receive medicine from the drug co. because of no insurance or job. I can not get the medicine from the drug co beacuse the order is not sent in or is sent in wrong from the dr. office. When I call about this, I do not receive a call back, therefore I can't receive medicine that I need to take for my illness. I have to go to a different dr after 25 years with Dr. Johnson for this reason. The new dr's office staff is more competence and realizes the importance of me taking my medicine everyday to stay well and out of the hospital. This has happen in just the last year with Dr. Johnson's office before I had no problems but my health is at risk from their incomptence.

I have waited in their lobby as much as 4.5 hours just to see the Doctor (with an appointment). Average wait time would be between 1 and 3 hours. Dr. Johnson is a good/average doctor, but the office staff is the pits. My mother stopped going to her after only one year - she said the office staff was horrible to her. Now I can relate. I went just the other day (without an appointment) just to have a nurse take my blood pressure and they refused. The lady standing behind the desk was the same lady that took my blood pressure every time I visited Dr. Johnson. No reason was given by the staff of why they wouldn't take it. My take on it is that since I didn't have an appointment - they couldn't collect a co-pay. I will not be returning to see this Doctor.
