Dr. Carol Beth Nelson, MD

I saw Dr Nelson for my extreme migraines for about nine years. She did more to help me than any dr in forty years had! She spent more time with me than other doctors had and it was almost a miracle to me in that I was having daily migraines 6 days a week and with Dr Nelson’s help I would have only a few each month; a huge lifestyle change. I am so thankful to her!

Dr. Nelson told my husband the he was suffering from cluster headaches. She gave him a prescription and sent him home. We were in the ER the next day. The hospital did a scan and found a brain bleed-subdural hematoma. The surgery performed by Dr. Malik and his staff, saved my husband.

Doctor was rude, incompetent staff, avoid at all costs

I went in for a yearly visit, planning to discuss some ongoing neck pain in relation to my migraines and also a new medical diagnosis. Dr. Nelson did not greet me or look directly at me when she entered the room, just sat down and said "why are you here"? I was immediately flustered and explained about my neck pain. She said she didn't really deal with neck pain, inferring I was in the wrong place. I started to tell her about my autoimmune diagnosis and she cut me off and stated I needed to follow up with my rheumatologist about that. I had seen Dr. Nelson in the past for chronic migraines and eye pain, and she had seemed caring and helpful before. This time she made me feel like I didn't belong there, several times stating I should follow up with my primary care provider going forward and only see her as needed. I felt like I was being dropped as a patient, and that our entire visit was a waste of her time. I was extremely disappointed and left her office feeling terrible.

I have been seeing Dr Nelson for my extreme migraines for six years. On my first visit she spent more time with me than all of the other neurologists put together over the years! I was having as many as six migraines a week and after beginning my treatment with Dr Nelson I was soon down to two a month! I now see Dr Nelson every three months for Botox injections and I drive from Minneapolis for her to administer them because when I’ve had it done other places it’s nit as effective. So we drive to Sioux Falls every three months just to se Dr Nelson. She’s changed my life!

Very attentive

We had taken our son in to be seen by Dr. Nelson for partial seizures. Dr. Nelson was very informative and she answered all of our questions that we had. We found Dr. Nelson very personable, caring and we would highly recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Nelson (Miles) administers my Botox injections for migraines. She is personable, pleasant and very adapt at administering the injections. She makes an unpleasant situation of getting 31 injections in your face and head quick and tolerable. She is caring and efficient.

Dr (Miles) Nelson is very personable and remembers who I am even though I only see her every 6 months. Takes the time to discuss and explain things. I have been extremely pleased with her. If you suffer from migraines, you need to make an appointment with Dr Carol Nelson!
