Dr. Carol Ehlinger Ritter, MD

Performed unnecessary procedure without medication because she forgot to order it. I waited two weeks to get results from bloodwork that she had results for within 24 hours. She told me if I wanted better care to go somewhere else so I did. Very rude and condescending.

After reading some of the other reviews, I felt compelled to comment. It is interesting how some find her wonderful and others quite the opposite. I think it depends on her mood. I found the negative visits outweighed the positive ones. She was moody and condescending. She made some smart comments when I asked a question or raised a concern . No excuse for this at all. I left her practice several years ago because of this.

The best GYN I have known, she took over Dr. Warren Wurzbacher's practice, he delivered all 3 children and then I received her gyn follow-up. I may go back to her for a 2nd opinion for prolapse.

I have been a patient of Dr Ritter’s for over 20 years. Sometimes she is fine but there have been numerous occasions where she seems very moody. When she is in one of her bad moods she is rude and very condescending. She will also have zero patience and zero interest in trying to explain something or answer my questions when in one of her moods. She excused herself by saying she was hypo-glycemic during my last appt with her. Possibly that is what is affecting her moods but I have finally had enough and will be switching to another doctor.

I have visited Dr. Ritter's office several times. Each time, I have made an appointment with Dr. Ritter and when I arrived, their staff asked if I would see her NP Stacy instead, as she was running behind. Stacy over prescribed me for my diagnosis. She did not follow the CDC guidelines on the proper amount of days of antibiotic usage. In addition to the excess of antibiotics, she also prescribed me a gel that was not fully covered by my insurance. The pharmacist I visited even questioned why I was being prescribed all these unnecessary antibiotics and gels. The next time I needed a refill on a different prescription, Dr. Ritter sent in the wrong prescription. When I called to fix the dosage, her staff was rude and condescending, stating that what she sent in is correct. I have been taking this medication for over 10 years and I know what dosage I need. It took several hours of phone tag to finally get the prescription correct. My last interaction with Dr. Ritter's office… was an incorrect bill sent on her office's part. They sent my labs to an out of network lab, even though I always have my labs done at an in network lab, resulting in a high out of pocket payment on my part. I have been bounced around from her office to the lab to my insurance to try to get this fixed. I've had nothing but issues with this practice. I will never return.

I went to Dr Ritter after seeing my regular Dr. because he recommended a hysterectomy and no alternative. She was very informative and offered non surgical treatment.

During my first visit with Dr. Ritter, I witnessed her behave erratically towards myself and her nursing staff. The manner in which she spoke to me was disturbing, given her credentials and years of experience in gynecology. She presented as very scattered, condescending, rude and ill equipped to handle patient questions and concerns. The office seems rather disorganized, as I was made to wait nearly an hour to be seen. She did not know who I was upon entering the exam room and did not bother to find out. These are not qualities I look for in a medical "professional." I will not be returning to her practice.

I like Dr. Ritter but her office staff does not arrive on time in the morning and seemed unprofessional when addressing my need to know test results and in delivering those results.

As a patient who has been very healthy overall I am appalled by Carol Ritter ( I refuse to call her "Dr."). Her lack of compassion, concern, and response to an emergency was incomprehensible - I was her patient and was never treated with respect. When an emergency arose while I was out of town, Carol Ritter did not return my call nor did her staff. I plan to report this person to the medical board of Maryland. ps - I also never received a single report from any mammogram or breast MRI in the past 3 years although I know the reports were sent to her office.
