Dr. Carol Lynn Trippitelli, MD

I have seen Dr. Trippitelli now twice and I can say without a doubt that she does care for her patients and their well- being. Also, she will try to answer all your questions in the session even if she runs a little late on her nexp appt. However, I was a bit taken aback by the fact that she didn't know the term cross-tapering with medication and residual medication. Also, she recommended i get blood drawn. But after two sessions I still have not received the paperwork to get that done. I would recommend trying her for an intial consultation and then deciding for yourself.

What kind of a doctor doesn't return phone calls? I don't need to see her - I already know she's incompetent.

Dr. Trippitelli is an extremely professional and accessible psychiatrist who always puts her patients' interests first. I've never known another doctor who returns calls on weekends - and when a refill is needed will take time to call the pharmacy herself. She also goes above and beyond for her patients by advocating for them with insurance companies, making sure they receive coverage for their necessary medication. Yes, she sometimes runs behind with her schedule because she's seeing other patients, but she's similarly understanding when patients run late - her responsiveness more than compensates for the occasional wait.

I agree with a previous reviewer that the doctor is obsessed with her JHU training, but all the Hopkins psychiatrists I've encountered in this area and elsewhere are that way. She has given me my life back, literally, and is always there for you when the going gets bad. She's also gotten me help outside the mid-atlantic for my particular variety of craziness.

She is chronically late and obsessed with her JHU training, but is a compassionate doctor. If you have a garden variety psychiatric disorder, you will probably like her quite a lot. If you have something more complex, be advised that the only box she thinks in is the John Hopkins box and she doesn't have contacts beyond that network to consult with to get alternative approaches.

Dr. Trippitelli is a very dedicated psychiatrist who has gone to great lengths to help me with my mood disorder. She seems to actually care about the wellbeing and general health of her patients and is fantastic with follow up. Highly recommended after going through about 4 other supposedly top notch shrinks in the DC area.
