Carolina Garcia Olmos Calil

Carolina Garcia Olmos Calil, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist with specific interests in anxiety disorders, mood disorders, cultural psychiatry, women’s mental health, and medical education who values being an empathic listener for her patients.
She’s an assistant professor in the Louis A. Faillace, MD, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. She is one of the attending physicians supervising the residents in the Third Year Psychiatry Residency Training Program at the medical school and has been involved with multiple research projects at the UTHealth Houston Center of Excellence on Mood Disorders.
She also has a leadership role in anxiety care at UT Physicians Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic — BBSB.
Originally from Brazil, she completed medical school at Faculdade de Ciencias Medicas do Santa Casa de São Paulo and her general psychiatry residency at Irmandade da Santa Casa de Misericordia.
