Dr. Caroline Gorn, MD

I was a patient of Dr.Gorn for over 2 years now. She performed 3 surgeries for me and I honestly had nothing but wonderful things to say about her for the longest time. My last surgery wound up being incredibly traumatic due to the way she treated me afterwards. She berated me when I was in the worst pain imaginable, blamed me for choosing surgery, was defensive about me asking questions about choices she made about my body. After arguing with her while sobbing and her berating me, she finally offered that I could stay overnight at the hospital to be monitored but stated “you can’t stay in the hospital forever” as if that’s what I wanted?! She was extremely passive aggressive and then came into my hospital room the next day saying “I’m not sure if you remember our conversation yesterday” as if because I had come out of surgery hours before that- that I hadn’t remembered what she had said to me and how she had treated me. After sending her a note terminating my care with her due to my… traumatic experience she said she was “sorry I felt that way”… not sorry she made me feel that way or for HER actions… take note if you ever plan on visiting her.

She's a good surgeon in the sense that she can clear out your endo. HOWEVER, after she's done cutting you open, she doesn't care how you're recovering. She doesn't listen when you continue to have problems post op. She wrote me off when I told her symptoms were getting WORSE 4 months post op with her. She does not remember her patients, or even bother to look at charts or notes prior to seeing them. If she did, she would not confuse things she's done for me vs. other patients. Saying I had appts I never made, and that she ordered imaging for me that was only ever done in an ED and through my PCP. She also flat out lies, stating Endometriosis has only been researched for the last 10 years. Which is ironic bc she also states she's been practicing for ten years. She's also not forthcoming with all available treatment options. You get surgery and medicine. That's it. Despite there being many other options. Getting information from her is really like pulling teeth. She claims she cares… about you and listens to what you have to say but its all just a lie.
