I thought I had found the perfect doctor for an inguinal hernia. On November 9th I had robotic surgery and supposedly everything went well. It turned out to be bilateral. While healing at home, it just didn’t feel right. I walked at least two miles a day as instructed. My diet was mainly soups and nothing really solid. I couldn’t eat much and began to lose weight. A total of 25 lbs in four weeks. I couldn’t take a deep breath and my stomach felt distended and I suffered pain. I expressed this to Dr Kim on my follow up visit but she said it was normal and that everything looked fine. Unfortunately, on December 14, I had to be rushed to the emergency room with an excruciating abdominal pain that turned out to be complications from the hernia surgery. The sutures unraveled and tangled my intestines producing a blockage. I had surgery at Methodist hospital and have had a full recovery since then. I feel that Dr Kim should have paid more attention to my discomfort at the… time of my follow up visit.

I immediately felt good about DR Kim when I met her. She did not rush the consultation and was friendly but matter of fact. Surgery went very well from registration to now. I also noted that the hospital staff all really love her and go out of their way to say nice things about her.
