Dr. Caroline Case Pierce, MD

I wouldn't really recommend her. She's not the best and is pretty basic when it comes to your care. She does the bare minimum. And I don't like her bedside manner.

For a patient that wants a proactive doctor that listens and empathizes with the stress that certain health concerns bring Dr Pierce is not the doctor for you. She is dismissive and relies on the patients not knowing enough to advocate for themselves to get by with doing the bare minimum for them. I asked if she could provide an order and referral to their in practice cardiology office and she required that I have either and in person or at the least a virtual visit without explaining if she could provide this type of referral. On my virtual visit she admitted that she wants to be "fairly compensated" for her time and effort, along with that she is "detail oriented" yet she asked me no new questions that related to her ability to provide an order and referral. But instead stated that she doesn't want to be going back and forth over MyPortal because that would "take her time and she wouldn't be compensated". I'm all for getting compensated fairly but I want to hear thoughtful reasoning… behind medical decisions about my body besides my doctor getting a check from seeing me. She stated I did not need routine blood work despite having a family history of high cholesterol unrelated to diet/lifestyle choices and refused to provide me with the opportunity to get a baseline of vitamins and minerals in a panel because I "eat healthy". If you are a patient that gets frustrated advocating for your health, feeling dismissed and wants a doctor that will put in effort for you this is not the doctor for you.

I have used Dr. Caroline Pierce three times too many. She has missed diagnosed, and has spent my money in areas not needed. After an accident with my back and $2,200 later she sent me to a specialist that told me she didn’t follow the proper channels, and ordered the wrong MRI that showed nothing. If I had been sent to the specialist first I never would have needed and MRI in the first place. She’s a nice lady but not a great health care physician. If you need proscriptions yes, but if your looking for actual help with youT body then no. Go find someone else.

Dr. Pierce provided good medical services. However, she has made my credit report a mess for charging me for services she advised me personally that I would not be charged for. I went over the situation of my insurance not covering the examination that she wanted to do and that I could not afford to allow her to do them. She was adamant that it was not a problem as she would net charge me for the services. When I sent her a letter advising of the situation after I got the bill, i received no response. I tried to contact by phone and I was advised to contact the billing people as there was nothing she could do. I contacted the billing people and they referred me to her. Eventually, since no one would address the issue with me in good faith, the erroneous charges were sent to a debt collector, of which the Dr. was advised. Still no response. And then the collector put it on my report. I am very disappointed in the Dr.'s behavior regarding this matter. It has caused me nothing but… headaches.

This doctor is an insurance fraud, I used to enjoy going but recently she has fraudently billed insurance for services that were not accurately described and left me with the bill. Then they don’t call back and when you refuse to pay an inaccurate bill they send you to collections. Stay away!

I have been a patient of Dr. Caroline Pierce since moving to Charlotte in 2005. Over the years, I have been impressed with how much attention she gives when I come in with a problem. She ask several questions and always tells me what the plan of action is to resolve the problem. I have already recommended her several times to friends. If you are looking for a primary physician, Dr. Caroline Pierce would be an excellent choice.
