Summary

Welcome to my home page

I enjoy practicing medicine because it is never the same everyday. There are always new and interesting diagnostic challenges and the field of radiology is especially exciting because of the continuous development of new technology and diagnostic tests to improve detection of disease.

I like the fact that within Kaiser Permanente we have an integrated multi-specialty group and all the physicians in the different specialties collaborate to do what is best for the patients. This organization is also very supportive of the physicians, which I appreciate.

About me

My father is an internist and I always admired his dedication to his career. I loved studying biology and science in school, and my twin sister and I both decided when we were about 10 years old that we would become doctors and helped each other along the way to achieve that goal.

I graduated from the University of Maryland, School of Medicine in 1992 and started my Radiology residency at Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, which I completed in 1996. I then went back to University of Maryland for a fellowship in Trauma and Critical Care Radiology (1996-1997). Then I served as Assistant Professor of Radiology for two years at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (1997-1999). I subsequently worked for two years in a private practice in Dallas, Texas (1999-2001).

I moved to Florida in 2001 and was Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Florida Shands Hospital for two years while my husband was doing a fellowship in vascular surgery at the same hospital. We then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where I joined a very large private practice and he worked in a small surgery group in an adjacent smaller city. We finally decided to both come and work for Kaiser Permanente so we could work in the same hospital again. We also liked the idea of working in an integrated, multi-specialty medical group and Kaiser Permanente is clearly the most successful of these in this country.

Ensuring Data Transparency and Trust: A Guide to Vitals Doctor Listings and Reviews

Our provider data is gathered directly from physicians and publicly available databases. Providers who verify their profiles gain the ability to update information, offering additional details about their specialties, education, treated conditions, performed procedures, and accepted insurances.

Reviews on Vitals are submitted by users only. Recognizing the valuable insights these reviews offer into a doctor's reputation, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Importantly, providers cannot delete or alter reviews independently. Reviews can only be deleted or changed following an internal assessment by our customer service team.

Your feedback is highly valued and we encourage you to contact our support team should you encounter any issues.
