My child had been sick since Monday. I decided to wait before going to the doctor because normally if he's only shown symptoms for a few days, I'm told it's viral and to give it time. By Friday night, his symptoms got worse so I took him in first thing Saturday morning where we saw Dr. Webber for the first time. She saw his throat and swabbed him for strep and it came back negative. Then we asked her to look at his bottom because I was concerned it didn't look like a typical rash. It was fairly bad, bumps and redness all over. I told her that he NEVER gets diaper rash so that should have raised a red flag. She gave me some samples of over the counter diaper rash cream and sent me and my two year old son on our way. It's now Wednesday and I refused to believe it's still "viral" and the diaper rash has spread and gotten worse. Luckily, we were able to get my son in with his usual doctor who diagnosed him with strep and yeast rash. So my son could have been 80% better by now had she… actually listened to me when I was telling her how long it had been going on and how rapidly it was getting worse. But no, my two year old had to suffer through four more days of feeling miserable and waddling because his bottom is so sore. Fair enough if the strep swab was negative but if his throat looked so bad that strep even came into question, it would have been nice to get him some sort of medicine for relief. She didn't mention anything over the counter I could get him until I asked. She told me to give him Benadryl to help stop any sinus drainage that could inflame his throat. I get to CVS and the dosage chart says for patients 2-5 ask your doctor. I asked the pharmacist but was told they are strictly forbidden to give dosage recommendations. It would have been nice if she could have at least told us how much of the Benadryl to give him. I will never take my child to see her again. As a mom, I want to know that the person I am trusting with my child's health is listening to me and takes into consideration the fact that I'm with him every day and I know when something's not right. We waited over an hour for five minutes of her time for her to do absolutely nothing to help my son or provide us any comfort. She just said "it's viral" and that was it. She just flat out didn't listen to me when I tried to tell her something wasn't right with him. I won't go back to her again and I definitely won't recommend her to any other moms looking for a pediatrician.
