Dr. Carolyn Renee Leavitt, MD

Dr. Leavitt is wonderful! We have been seeing her 'on and off' for the past few years regarding our pre-teenage son. She has been welcoming, professional and super helpful to not only him, but also to my husband and me. Each time we show up with our lives turned upside down, she manages to get us back upright. We are so grateful to have found her.

I cannot tell you what a difference she made in my life! Before seeing her, I had spent more than a decade with other providers making no progress and felt like I was barely treading water. She not only provided valuable therapy, but she was able to spot a misdiagnosis that was holding me back. It is rare to find a physician who is gifted in both medical management and therapy, and I will forever feel blessed for having found her and thankful for all she has done for me. I cannot recommend her enough.

Dr. Carolyn Leavitt is arguably among the worst psychiatrists/therapists in the Miami-Dade county area. She lacks the basic necessary skills to be successful in the mental health industry. She has no compassion or empathy. Do NOT let her fool you. She will pretend to be caring and empathetic at first, but it’s all for the money. Don’t waste your money listening to her talk about her failed marriage and her own personal problems. She needs to get her act together before seeing patients. If your problem is at all going to cost her any effort she will decide it’s to complex for her to deal with, after already taking tens of thousands of dollars from you. She will also forget even the most basic details that you tell her because she’s too busy pretending to care. Stay away from this bogus “doctor.”

Dr. Leavitt wasn't completely awful, but she was pretty flaky. I found her difficult to relate to as her manner can be cold and off-putting.

I suffer from depression and OCD and Carolyn Leavitt is the first psychiatrist I have found who has put me on a healing path without resorting primarily to drugs. She is a superb analyst, very concerned about the measurable signs of improvement in her patients, and she has the patience and empathy to change lives. I have recommended her without hesitation to friends and associates who are battling mind and personality issues

Did not take the time to fully understand my need and the reason I was seeing her. When I asked her about her standard operating procedure and explained to her that I wasn't comfortable with certain things, she became very defensive....almost abrasive. Not a person anyone could easily warm up and open up to. Very cold, rigid personality. Does not take the time to make patient feel comfortable with her. She should not be in mental health, dealing with patients.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Carolyn R Leavitt. She has been extremely helpful to me throughout the 10+ years that I have been seeing her. Dr. Leavitt consistently answers all my questions before, after, and during my appointment. Dr. Leavitt provides a safe, understanding, compassionate, exceedingly accommodating, and most importantly, exceptionally effective practice. She always makes herself available to me whether it be via phone, text, or email â?? no matter what time of day! Over the years, I have seen many different professionals. It has been my experience that Dr. Leavitt is the most effective (by a wide margin!) and is hands down the only one I trust to my brain. I would give 5+ stars if they had them!
