Dr. Carolyn Grace Rooney, PhD

Concerning, unethical behavior I’ve never experienced with any other psychologist. She made personal disclosures that made me uncomfortable and confused. She made quick assumptions and asserted and inserted her personal opinions when I expected a non-judgmental space to process trauma. After a difficult experience during therapy with her, I experienced her as someone unwilling to take responsibility or accountability for increasing rather than reducing the traumatic pain I sought therapy to heal. I wish she would have been compassionate and had a better ability to take my perspective for the sake of therapeutic healing, but I found her allegiance to her matter-of-fact, cerebral approach to undermine and sabotage what should have been a safe place to feel and heal.

Need a neuropsych testing for your kid, she is the one to see.very helpful.

When I first started as a patient with Dr. Rooney, we worked on stabilizing my life as a whole, the day to day experiences. Since then, she has helped me transform my life for the better. I have been very pleased with my course of treatment with Dr. Rooney.

I admit it, I ent because my wife made me go. She told us, I'm not in this to make $$$. I told my wife the only people who say that are in it to make $$$. At first I was wrong because she met with us twice and told us to go to someone else. The counselor in the office next door. That was bad advice from someone who I think doesn't have kids. Then she sent us to someone in a whole different county. That guy just talked about sports, mostly golf. My son does't like golf. I don't like golf and I don't know what that guy was talking about. She told my wife she can't prescribe medicine but told her to go to someone who can. I said no we're done with her. Total waste of money and time.

Dr. Rooney is compassionate, insightful, experienced, and intelligent, with expertise in many areas. I have recommended her to many people with a range of needs, and everyone has had the same experience. I will continue to do so in the future. Thank you, Dr. Rooney!

She’s not a therapist. She gives tests and writes reports. She is very opinionated. Her fees are very high and she makes more money by adding on follow-up appointments you don’t need. She doesn’t give you any more information than she writes in her report which is basically useless. The school didn’t use it and our pediatrician said it was unnecessary.

I wanted and needed Dr. Rooney when I sought her services. While she has many strengths and I believe she intends to be supportive, our work together ended in my disappointment. Be clear about what you want and need from a therapist and ask her questions to determine if she's the right fit for you.
