Dr. Carolyn Crump Thompson, MD

Pregnant , listen to a few people , but not enough. Went to her and she treated me like I was stupid. She also was very ver uncaring as was the staff about my miscarriage . Then 2 months later I was bleeding profusely and she said oh that is Normal. Finally after 2 months I had a dnc . She didn’t check on me or talk to my husband while he was waiting . Years later I needed to go back for menopause and researched until I decided dr. Sue Ann McGuire . She is the most caring compassionate doctor. Oh I wish I would have known. I hope this helps and I hope nobody has to experience the pain I suffered . The fact Is that I don’t want anyone to have to experience her uncaring personality amd her condescending attitude when I told her I was bleeding through 6 pads a day and her say that is Normal . NO !! My dnc was painful and she didn’t even come talk to my husband when I got out . I really wish I had written a formal letter . Please do research and get Tons of recommendations .

Glad she has retired

I am very dissatisfied with this office. Made an appointment for my 18 year old daughter and all she did was talk to her. My daughter said she spent about 10 mins with her and that was it. I tried to call the same day to inquire as to why nothing was done. I called at least every minute for 2 solid hours and got there automated answering (which does not allow you to leave a message) and never could get an answer. I even dialed 0 to get the answering service and was told I could not leave a message with them either unless it was an emergency so I drove back to the office. As I was opening the door, I was trying the number yet again and got the same thing. When I expressed my displeasure regarding the fact that I couldn't get through the girl in the office grabbed the phone and pressed some numbers and said she didn't understand why that was happening and so unbeknownst to them I called again and can you believe it, I got through then! I am also a patient there as well and had the… problem with not being able to get through on the phone and having orders for a mammogram messed up but decided maybe it was just a coincidence-big mistake. I just asked for a release of records and told them we would both be changing doctors. Neither of the women in the front seemed to care or offer for Dr. Thompson to speak with me. As soon as I got to my car I called another doctor to get set up.

Ive been seeing Dr. Thompson for years. She helped me through endometriosis & laproscopy, delivered my 2nd child, performed a tubal litigation (at my choice) & at last a da vinci surgery hystorectomy after more endometriosis appeared. Ive been through just about every female issue there is & she been there for me every step of the way. I highly recommend her!

I have been seeing Dr. Thompson since she delivered my daughter over seven years ago. I came in as high risk pregnancy as I had given birth to a sleeping baby several months before. Dr. Thompson made sure that I had the check ups I needed and as I was extremely paranoid my entire pregnancy and would call late at night or early in the morning she never made me feel bad and was always reassuring. I recommend her to anyone who is looking for an OB/GYN.

My experience with Dr. Thompson was entirely disappointing, she does all the talking and when you question anything, she gets defensive. Her conversation is very careless and she interrupts frequently and is very dominating. How can a physician know the problem if they talk the whole time and are not listening patient? I had severe pain and have always been Intolerant of hormone therapy, she was not interested in helping me in any other way outside of hormones. She made me feel like I am an inconvenience and oddity for being honest about how these pills have made me feel in the past. All in all it came across to me as though Dr. Thompson no intent in viewing me as an individual. My situation isn't easy, or typical she didn't want to deal with it. She was willing to bill ME AND MY INSURANCE for over 17k.... It's frustrating that it feels like it was for nothing.

I have had several appointments with Carolyn Thompson and find her disinterest in my condition appalling. I have endometriosis and have significant pain and feel she is not compassionate/ doesn't believe me. I will not be returning to her office.

My husband was writing a note to my daughter who turns 16 years old tomorrow. We have moved from Nashville. Our first daughter was delivered by Dr Thompson. Since then, we have had 3 more daughters in 3 other states. Dr Thompson was the best doctor we ever had in delivering four daughters. She still has a special place in our heart.

I had been a patient of Dr. Thompson's for a few years and really liked her as a gynecologist. When I became pregnant my husband and I went to see her for early blood work and ultrasound. We felt completely rushed by her and she tersely answered the questions we had. I asked her specifically if she saw twins during the ultrasound as I just had a feeling- she said no and we left and immediately transferred to the Vanderbilt midwives where our questions and concerns were listened to and we were given all the time we needed. At my 20 week ultrasound the first thing the technician asked us was why didn't it say on our chart that it was a twin pregnancy. I'm glad I listened to my instinct not to continue under her "care". I wonder what else she might have rushed over and completely missed.

I would refer my friends to this doctor.
