Dr. Carrie K Burns, MD

i read the reviews on this page for Dr>Burns and her Staff, and I would just like to say that, Dr. Burns cares about her patients and so does her staff. I have gone to Dr. Burns for 36 years and my husband and parents and sister, and her in laws go to her also. There was a time that I didnt get to see Dr. Burns do to a loss of insurance but i finally decidedd that didnt matter I was going back, when I told her what had happened she told me that they could do a different cash pay with me and i havent left since. ( it is the one they do with all cash Patients) , im not special lol. Dr. Burns and her staff are about seeing you well and living a healthy life. She hushed me one time, but she had to, I was doing all the talking.. We go to a Doctor to seek help, and get answers to our problems, if you'll just take the time to listen to what Dr. Burns or Kyle are telling you, even if you dont like it, you just might get better. But remember She's a human being she's not God, but She and her… staff will do all that you will let them to see that you get better.I know because she has done it with my family . RP

Yes, I am.....after seeing this physician since she opened her practice in Baytown, I'm looking for a new Primary Care Provider. Dr. Burns is not the same Dr. now that I liked for so many years. Her interaction with me has become rude and abrupt. She's ridiculed questions I've asked and seemed to be attempting to make me feel foolish for asking. If that was her goal, it doesn't work well on me. I don't know what her problem is, but this has been going on for quite a while.....and I've had enough. You know something's wrong when a lot of patients would prefer to see the PA for anything and everything rather than see the doctor.

Looking over different reviews I see Dr. Burns has quite the reputation of being extremely inconsiderate. I have been going here for years, and mainly seen the PA. Every now and then seeing dr. Burns. Today was the most ridiculous confrontation I’ve ever experienced with a “professional” doctor. She made fun of my wife’s post partum depression, she dismissed me, and it was like this inner demon came out of here. She’s always seemed edgy, and I’ve never really felt comfortable being there. I guess I just never switched due to the rapport I’ve had there. It is a hassle switching doctors, but believe me it will be worth it! I know there are bad reviews everywhere, but trust me when I tell you that I have NEVER in 31 years of life written a review on anything, good or bad. I just had to vent and tell my story. Look elsewhere, do not waste your time. Let me add this. The staff care more about you than the actual doctor.

Because that's exactly what she needs to do! Dr. Burns is amazing and that's why so many people like her - but that's only if you get the chance to actually see HER. The PA is always available, but you to to a doctor for a reason, not to see the PA! The office staff is great, however the follow up is non-existent.

My husband and I have been going to this doctor for about 3 years now. Note that my 'Overall rating' and ratings for 'Bedside manner' and 'Spends time with me' are for the doctor, not the PA or staff. Although the staff is really on the ball and goes out of their way to be helpful and prompt, and the wait times are next to nothing, the doctor's bedside manner is quite abrupt, to put it mildly. I thought maybe she was just that way with me, but another review parallels my experience, and the term 'belittling' is fairly accurate. As for the PA, she seems to be quite good, so I have made it a point to book all my appointments with her. My husband, on the other hand, has been going to this doctor for 3 years and has NEVER seen the doctor, only the PA. He was originally told that appointments would be alternated between both, but each time he has called for an appointment (which isn't too often and he does not specifically ask for one or the other), he is always assigned to the PA. As I… said, we have decided to look for another primary care physician. I hope we have better luck as the previous doctor, who I went to for over 15 years, was an amazing diagnostician, but had a nightmare of a staff.

I've been using Dr. Burns for a few years now. I absolutely love being able to use one Dr. for all the family & being able to schedule all my female appts. with one Dr. The whole staff is awesome.

I was very disappointed in my experience with this doctor. I felt belittled as I tried to explain what I was going through. She continued to raise her hand as to "hush" me for moments throughout our conversation so she could get her point across. I don't feel as though she wanted to believe what I was trying to tell her. Her bedside manner needs much improvement. I am usually not one to post reviews, but I do feel the need on this particular doctor. She needs to remember who comes first...."the patient or the doctor?"

I was looking for a new Family physician and my ENT recommended Dr. Burns. I called for an appointment because I was having some pain. I got an appointment with the Dr for a month away but one with the PA the next day. She ordered blood work and xrays. I had to call to find out the results and the person I talked to said some of the blood work wasn't back and they didn't have the xrays back. She was supposed to check on them and call me back. 3 days later I called and they still don't have the xrays but the Xray facility said they sent them. Who knows but I told them every time I called that I was in a lot of pain. I'm really frustrated!! My review is based on the PA NOT the Dr. because I've yet to see her.
