Dr. Carrie Jane Folse, MD

She was rude and treated me like a complete idiot. Did not listen…ordered a celiac test DESPITE me already testing positive twice for Celiac from a previous doctor. I have been on a strict gluten-free diet since my diagnosis, which renders any tests for Celiac automatically negative because the tests are looking for the IgA factor, which is an inflammation marker ONLY present when consuming whatever is causing the inflammation (in this case, gluten). I needed help with severe constipation, and she ran no tests to determine the root cause. Just diagnosed me with IBS-C and prescribed a medication with horrible risk factors. I eat a healthy diet, am at a healthy weight, exercise daily, and am only 30. There IS an underlying cause, and Ms. Folse doesn't care. She just wants patients and $$$, and prescribes bare-minimum fixes.

She stated she was a nurse practitioner and worked for Dr. Folse even though she is Dr. Folse. The entire appointment she acted as though I offended her with every word I said and like I was an idiot with no brain. I already called the office manager and will be calling the CEO tomorrow.

Always given me great information and vary direct with me. I thankful for her personality it becomes her and great for me.

very efficient and quick to respond. in and out of hospital for procedure in 1-1/2 hours.

Apparently this staff fails to look at patient files I was scolded for sharing what the doctors decision was about where my procedure was best handled which was uab. I was also accused of not following up which in fact I did sharing earlier in the year that my health was too frail at the time to go under anesthesia for a 3rd endoscopy. Seems patient blaming and failure to review patient files id's a current trend.

Dr. Folse is a busy physician who is matter of fact. She talks with you, examines you and then tells you what you need to do. She doesn't sugar coat anything. I appreciate that fact and prefer a straightforward approach. I want a physician like that! My time is important too, so I don't want a doctor to give me nicely maybe's. She doesn't take no from an insurance company either. Staff is very friendly & helpful.

Dr. Folse could stand to be tad friendlier but I can tell that's just not her demeanor. However, I would trade friendliness any day for having an knowledgeable physician. The wait time is a bit long too. Her staff is very friendly and she is an excellent doctor in every other regard.
