Dr. Cary Phillips Crowe, MD

I went to my obgyn appointment because my periods were irregular from vigorous exercise. She told me that I needed to be on birth control. I voiced my concerns about weight gain since I am a serious athlete and she told ignored me and made the following statement "you'll gain more weight being pregnant than you will gaining weight on birth control." As a woman, I was hurt. I came to another woman for advice and help.

Very Rude beside manners, i have a condition vitiligo and she told me I need vitamin D terribly, I explained my condition and she looked at me in a disgusting way! Help your patients and get your head out of the clouds!!!

Very dismissive. Rude. Looks at you like you’re crazy when voicing your concerns. Definitely don’t recommend.

She came in the room when I was fully dilated and cut me without asking. Right after the birth of my son she talked about how she was glad she wore her boots due the blood on the floor while ignoring me when I asked her to slow down stitching me up. My son is healthy and I am blessed, but how dare she not respect the amazing and holy experience of his birth and my labor!!!

Dr. Crowe was the first gynecologist I had ever been to and she made my first visit a breeze. Dr. Crowe helped me to relax and answered all my questions. She has continued to make my doctor visits comfortable and easy. She’s the best!

Very cold and pissy

am a type 1 diabetic and thought that going to St. Vincents "where babies come from" was my best bet. I began having problems with swelling at about 32 weeks. I had made several appointments with Dr. Crowe to make sure that it was nothing serious, and after being brushed of 3-4 times I realized that no one at St. Vincents cared. I got admitted to labor and delivery one night while at work(36 weeks) and was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia. The next day I went for an appointment with the doctor who had been on call that night, and the preeclampsia was so bad that it wasn't safe for me or the baby to keep her in there any longer. He preformed an emergency c section that afternoon, and delivered a beautiful baby girl. After he retrieved my records from St. Vincents he realized that I had been spilling protein in my urine since very early on in my pregnancy. All in all this could have been prevented if someone had taken the time to evaluate me.

While not my doctor, Dr. Crowe was the doctor on call when I was discharged from labor and delivery. The prescription for pain pills that was written earlier by another doctor did not have the dosage written down. The pharmacy called the hospital and told my husband to come back to the hospital with the original prescription so Dr. Crowe could correct the mistake. When my husband arrived the discharge nurse called Dr. Crowe to notify her of the need for her to come back to the hospital to correct the prescription. Dr. Crowe said she would not come back and that he could just get an alternative pain pill that would not require her to return to the hospital. The nurse informed her that that medication makes me vomit horribly. Her response was tell her to get some nausea medicine to take with it. The nurse then began to tear up and said thank you to Dr. Crowe and hung up. The nurse apologized repeatedly as she wiped tears from her eyes. I will never forget how poorly I was treated… by Dr. Crowe while trying to recover from c-section.I have never seen a doctor so indifferent and uncaring to the pain of a patient.
