Dr. Caryn Marie Giacona, MD

She sent a diagnosis to me by mail. No phone call -then was unbelievably rude and dismissive and blamed other Doctors in practice for not doing so. I wasn’t surprised as I had met her at my daughters appointment and she was dismissive then also. Search other reviews and you will see more of the same.

I have M.S. and have been to MANY doctors over the years; this has been as a result of finding that most doctors have no desire to listen to your symptoms and will almost always blame everything on the M.S. Dr. G. has always listened, shown compassion and provided options. She has never treated me as though I was a hypochondriac and has always been respectful and kind. I cannot recommend her more highly and only wish that I could properly articulate how great she is and how much I trust her opinion!

I’ve been a patient of hers for several years. I find her smart, kind, and exceedingly knowledgeable. I’m so grateful to have found her when I moved here, and have recommended her to several friends, who also love her. I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. LOVE her.

If your looking for a doctor that does not look for the CAUSE of an illness and just throws pills at the symptoms, congrats, you have found a perfect match.

Dr. Giacona has very poor boundary control. I know things about her personal life that she shared with me that I most certainly did not need to know. She made inappropriate comments to me regarding my sexuality and mental illness. Personal information was shared freely by the office staff. I would NOT recommend her to others. She did not follow up on condition complaints..frequently, I performed my own research for complaints.

I am a medical professional and I will say it's almost laughable that it states here she has expertise in diabetes. My parents are older and very different in how they manage their health. My father sees many specialists and asks me for help to coordinate his care. My mother is the opposite. So when she told me she was not feeling well I tested her blood glucose and it was 498, I got from Dr. Giacona's associate via telephone that this was nothing new and not to worry about because I would know if my mother was in DKA or not. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard I almost dropped the phone. They called in one medication (glipizide) which would make the pancreas produce more insulin to lower her sugar when her HbA1C was literally off the charts at 15 so her pancreas was not functioning. Luckily I got an appointment with the endocrinologist the next day which is very difficult. The endocrinologist was appalled. Not to say my mother wasn't the contributer to her disease but… she went from treatable prediabetes/early diabetes to insulin dependence in a matter of 6 months. Luckily she got treated soon enough and didn't take the glipizide right away as she was initially prescribed as it would have been harmful in her specific case. Next victim, my brother in law.... Another long story Don't be another statistic in this office. I truly do not understand what they are doing or who is looking at their lab results. She is a nice woman, but doesn't treat disease. And her colleague is worse!

My husband and I were both patients of Dr. Giacona she is an exceptional Dr. first you never have a long wait, she is always pleasant,she always goes above and beyond to help you. If you call for a refill, referral etc. she takes care of it immediately! I have dealt with other offices where I would have to keep calling for days to have something done, plus a visit would be 2 hours!! The staff is also great! Can't wait to get new insurance so we can go back to her.
