Dr. Caryn M Hollander, MD

I scheduled an appointment for 3:20 with Dr. Hollander. I waited in the waiting room for 1 hour and 30 minutes to be told that Dr. Hollander had to leave the office. Please note there was no emergency, that was her scheduled out time that no one communicated to me as I sat in the waiting room to be seen for all that time. Disorganized to say the least, please avoid this doctor if you value your time.

I believe Dr Hollander is a good doctor. She is perfectly capable of treating any patient. However, I would have to say that she doesn't have much empathy and I think when we're pregnant it's pretty important to have a doctor that displays genuine care for you. She's matter of fact, to the point, and may just tell you to suck it up. Different personalities require different methods. She may be the perfect doctor for you....but if you are emotional or sensitive I would suggest a different doctor.

I really love this doc. I was having a few issues with pelvic pain and she put to rest any fears I had. Was very up on cancer screenings and was really interested in trying to get me to take better care of myself. And doesn't talk down to you like some doctors do. Can have an actual conversation and not feel rushed. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

Dr. Malkman, in my opinion is a hack. While at the V.A. she misdiagnosed me with multiple myeoloma when I had arthritis. I had to go through cancer screenings which caused me a lot of mental distress. Her alleged speciality is Ob/Gyn. Why she was diagnosing adult male veterans at the VA is beyond me. It should also be noted that at her first application for a regular medical license, Dr. Malkman, was turned down . She had a litany of complaints about her from the Eastern Va. Med. School where she was a resident. It looks like she now has a regular license but based on my experience, I would rather have a dentist doing heart surgery on me rather than Dr. Malkman near me.
