Dr. Casey Hanson, MD

I discovered Dr. Casey Hanson entered false and unfounded information into my medical record, information we never discussed and symptoms that I did not exhibit. When I brought this to her attention at my next appointment, she was embarrassed, saying she didn’t realize patients would read their own healthcare summaries. She acknowledged the error, was very apologetic, and agreed to amend my record. Despite that, no amendment was ever made. My request for an amendment was also formally denied by MDIH. This kind of documentation can follow a patient and influence future care. Her failure to amend false information, even after admitting it was incorrect, undermines trust. I would strongly caution anyone considering her as a provider. Finally, I strongly encourage every patient, no matter how routine or uneventful your visit feels, to read your own healthcare summaries afterward in your patient portal. What’s written in your record may not reflect what actually happened in the exam room.

I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Hanson to a friend or family member. She is personable and caring. She takes the time to fully answer questions and follows up promptly after the visit with blood test results and recommendations. I am very satisfied with the care I receive from Dr. Hanson and the rest of the staff at the Gouldsboro Clinic.

I have never experienced this kind of personalized followup from a doctor before. I was extraordinarily impressed, both with the followup and with the appointment--I never felt rushed, I felt I was being listened to, I felt as if my health was important to Dr. Hanson.
