Dr. Cassandra Alda Lee, MD

After waiting 50mins to see Dr. Lee, I never did! She never came in I only saw her resident who openly admitted he didn’t know anything about a genetic condition I have that greatly effects my orthopedic care. This is my last straw with UCDMC.

I saw Dr. Lee after an MRI reading revealed a torn meniscus in my right knee. Her resident pointed to a spot in the MRI where he though the tear was. After a quick conversation, he got Dr. Lee. She breezed into the room, flipped through the MRI, skipped the view where the tear was most obvious, then told me there was no tear. When I asked her why a radiologist had said I had a meniscus tear she said "Radiologists sit alone in dark rooms all day. I actually talk to patients." She then wrote me an order for PT for just knee pain. Lucky for me, I got a second opinion, as I thought it was strange a radiologist, nurse, and resident would all think my MRI showed a tear. I saw another ortho who was able to show me in every single shot of my meniscus evidence of the tear. If I had listened to Dr. Lee, I would have received PT that could have made my situation worse. I going to need surgery and I am glad it is not with Dr. Lee. She seems like the kind of doctor who is attentive and interested… in really complicated problems. My inability to walk due to a meniscus tear, while of the utmost interest to me, just isn't fascinating enough to garner her attention. The appointment was short, painful - that was one rough physical exam - and a waste of time and money.

Let me start off with saying I am highly satisfied with the care I received from Dr. Cassandra Lee and her staff. I suffered severe injuries to both of my knees. I violently dislocsted them both at the same time. I tore my ACL,LCL,and PCL in both knees. I tore off my patellar tendon in my right knee and a tibia Plateau fracture. I tore the hamstring in my left leg and had significant nerve damage causing what is known as foot drop. The combination of injuries I sustained is extremely rare. I had four long painful surgeries. I spent about seven months in a wheelchair and fought so hard to gain my strength and fitness back. Dr. Lee did an amazing job on my surgery. In my opinion (which is a very very rare one) she did an excellent job. It has been about two-and-a-half years from my surgeries at the time of this review. There was a point where I wasn't sure if I would walk again but I have been working out 3 times a week at CrossFit East Sacramento. Walking and jogging are difficult but I… am doing both of them. The surgeon you get to fix your messed-up Body Matters a lot but what matters even more is the time you put into rehabilitating your body and mind. I am living proof that she did an amazing job on my knees. When I first met Dr. Lee she was very comforting and explaining what I was about to embark on. She was honest with me about the uphill battle I was facing. I appreciate a surgeon that is upfront and honest and to the point. She followed up with me after each of my surgeries. She even came to my bedside when I was hospitalized for two of the surgeries. What matters most in a surgeon is one that is going to fix you right the first time. If you are reading this review and wondering if Dr Lee is skilled enough or good enough please take my word for it. She is great!

She seemed rushed. Her introduction was cursory and disingenuous. Her evaluation seemed thorough but then the conclusions were not well presented. I.left feeling discouraged. I will be seeking a second opinion.

Dr.Lee did my spinal chord sugery,and now im practically paralized !!she spends NO time after surgery she came maybe once ot twice BOTH times once after surgery and when i was flown their from the ER because of major back pain.I used to play sports like volley ball,ride horses etc ,but now i lay in bed and have MAJOR pain in my back and legs along with no feeling in my feet or legs! THEY WONT GIVE ME PAIN MEDS !!!THEY ARE TERRIBLE AND A NIGHTMARE TO DEAL WITH!!
