Condescending, lacks people skills. Treated me for something I didn’t have. Awful

I saw Dr. Stroud in the Urgent Care at 300 Fir St. She was immediately personable. She listened to me carefully. She then asked clarifying questions. After she'd studied my specimens, she decided I needed to get further tests & scans at the ER. She assured me that the ER was not busy, despite the pandemic, telling me she had just sent one of her patients to the ER and then seen the woman afterward. The patient's report was she was immediately seen, her needs were seen to, and results were swift. This was my experience too when I visited the E R. Finally, Dr. Stroud fully explained what her initial diagnoses were. She did so clearly, and answered all my questions. When she was leaving, I thanked her and told her I was giving her a virtual hug. She smiled and said, "Me too." I'd arrived in pain with much worry and confusion. I left knowing what steps were going to be taken and how the overall puzzle would be revealed. Thank you, Dr. Stroud.

Surprised by the other reviews, I found Dr. Stroud to be excellent in every way. Most importantly, she diagnosed and treated me expertly. I arrived in intense pain and left improved with reassurances that came true. The immediate treatment and prescriptions were right on and, as she assured me, I would feel better shortly. I found her manner to be appropriate; she was concerned and efficient. I would choose her again to treat me with no reservations.

Dr. Cassandra Stroud saw me in the Sharp Memorial ER and it was one of the worst physician experiences I've ever had. I was in some of the worst pain of my life after exposure in my eyes to a poisonous plant. She, nor any of the other staff, ever asked how much pain I was in, and Dr. Stroud didn't even bother to actually walk into the room. Just pulled the screen aside and said something to the effect of "This is the way it is, there's not much we can do." They didn't even call Poison Control until my family suggested it and said we were going to do it ourselves. There was never an attempt on their behalf to manage my pain. Every action taken (aside from a saline rinse), was at the suggestion of my family to try and make me more comfortable. She has ZERO bedside manner, made me as the patient feel helpless and inferior, and made my family feel as though they were imposing. I would highly advise Sharp to take notice of Dr. Stroud's unfortunate history of less-than-stellar care and take… action.

Poor bedside and abrupt manners. Intimidating - does not make one feel comfortable to ask questions.
