Dr. Cassie J Harrington, MD

My mom saw Dr. Harrington, and now myself & my daughter are her patients. The care & compassion shown to my mom while she fought a terminal fight was unprecedented. She agreed to allow me to work on my overall health without putting me on meds right away. I feel she always listens & is very thorough.

I have been a patient of Dr. Harrington's for I at least 8 years. I owe my life to her! She is an excellent diagnostician. She refers to specialists when necessary She is patient with questions and explains her rationale for treatment. I always feel my questions are answered and she exhibits great empathy and warmth. My immediate family have also selected her as their PCP. Dr. Harrington advocated for me when I was having trouble getting the attention of my surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic after post surgical issues. She actually called the doctor in Cleveland as I sat in her office. She encourages me to be proactive in my health and a partner with her in my wellness. I also completely trust her nurse practitioner as well as the other drs in the practice. When my children were younger, I really appreciated the "talks" she would have with them at their well visits about good decision making regarding friends, drugs, smoking etc. I have, and will continue to recommend Dr.… Harrington to friends and family.

She is quick and passes over her exams in a haphazard manner. It seems like she is not paying attention to what she is doing . Pleasant person but question caring and concern. More interested in going down her check list for documentation purposes. Would never go for anything serious. Agree with other assessments.

Have gone many times but have never gotten what I would consider a good exam. I agree with others, she is distant and seems ready to move on when she arrives. Listens but dosen't seem to grasp what your saying. A nice person but if I had a major issue I wouldn't continue. Provides basic care.

My overall experience with Dr. Harrington was rushed and unprofessional. I was to get a physical which I feel was not a complete physical. She does not check reflexes and when check the throat she takes a quick look without using a tongue depressor. When I asked her about a specific medication, she did not take responsibility in answering my question. She said I would need to speak to my pulmonologist about that. She had initially checked my ears, nose and throat then 10 mins. later she checked again. I said you already did this. I do not recommend this doctor to anyone.The office staff were good and they were helpful.

I like her a lot, although I have to say that sometimes things go over her head. She's not the sharpest doctor, but thankfully she knows when things are over her head and will refer you to someone else. The wait is the worst part, the office staff are great and she is overall great. Very nice doc.

Having moved back into the area last year, I was in search of a kind, thorough, efficient PCP. Having received this type of care, a close family member highly recommended Dr. Harrington to me. I first met with her to assess new and constant gastric pain and nausea and continued with her for past medical problems. With each visit, I found I was feeling as though I was being talked down to and was having to remind her of my problems, what doctors she'd passed me on to, what tests they'd done, etc. Not wanting to restart with another new PCP, I continued to go, hoping each visit had been a special circumstance. However, with my last visit, I was reprimanded for receiving a refill Rx from one of her partners and lectured on their office's policies/procedures - a conversation I would assume should only be had with the doctors involved, NOT with the patient - if a patient calls for a Rx refill and a doctor provides the prescription - why would I think I've done anything wrong? During… the same visit I brought up a new feeling of lethargy ("I can sleep all day, get up for a few hours and then head to bed and sleep through the night") - Dr. Harrington did not ask any interview questions to learn more about the lethargy and despite my exercise and diet enduced 20 lb. weight loss this year, told me that lethargy is usually due to a person's lifestyle, but I could get some blood work done if I really wanted to.As an RN, BSN, I have worked with many doctors both professionally and as a patient - I have found my experiences with Dr. Harrington to be very disappointing. My family member continues to see her and receive adequate care which has my husband wondering if it is because I am a nurse...? Either way, we have decided to end this awkward and inadequate relationship with this particular practice.
