Dr. Catalin Gabriel Marinescu, MD

Dr. Marinescu is THE BEST!!! He delivered my 2 children via C-section who are now 2 years and 6 weeks old. My first was unplanned as I failed to dilate and my second was planned. I knew with my second pregnancy that my delivery would be smooth as Dr. Marinescu did an outstanding job with my first C-section. He even covered my first scar! I wasn’t nervous at all as I knew I’d be in good hands. I always feel a sense of relief when I see Dr. Marinescu and am incredibly grateful that he was my OB during my pregnancy journey. A friend of mine, a former nurse who had worked with Dr. Marinescu, had also recommended him due to his expertise and skill. Dr. Marinescu never comes off as arrogant or pompous, or pushes his own agenda like some other OBs I’ve met. His staff are also amazing. They are so nice and friendly and patient. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Marinescu - my husband and I recommend him to the highest degree and will miss him!

Within less than 3 days after meeting Dr Marinescu my insurance was authorized and I was on the schedule for minimally invasive robotic myomectomy. One month later I am one week post op and fibroid free and my quality of life has already improved even while I am still healing. Dr Marinescu accomplished in less than one month what I haven’t been able to accomplish after 15+ years seeing 10+ practitioners. He also found and got rid of an ovarian cyst no one else saw and he removed almost twice as many fibroids as my ultrasounds showed. Please see him before you make the choice to have a hysterectomy. I would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Two years ago, I started having terrible pain during my period, which included very heavy bleeding that lasted 2 weeks. Probably 4 times in the last year I would describe the pain as 15 out of 10. It lasted for 2 hours. Nothing I did helped. I visited 5 other gynecologists, who frankly were pretty arrogant and disrespectful, questioning my pain, to find answers about what could be causing me so much pain. The answers I got were: constipation, not getting pregnant, and having period for too many years, or that I need to start taking hormone treatment. Their ultrasounds found nothing, and the doctors said they would need to perform exploratory surgery to find out what was wrong, but they didn't want to do it, as they did not believe me or said it might be very risky surgery. As an European, I am used to excellent medical quality service being provided, but I found that I was getting pretty desperate from the lack of answers and help I was receiving from other doctors. Then I came to… Dr. Marinescu, who discovered the problem right away. I had endometriosis, pretty large polyp and fibroid. He was very polite and treated me with respect. He was professional and fixed the problem with minimally invasive surgery, and I was home the same day. I only regret that I didn’t find him sooner, and didn’t waste my time with those other hack jobs. It would have saved me 2 years of unbearable pain and suffering. Dr. Marinescu cares about his patients, and not about himself or money, as other doctors do. He explains everything and makes sure that patients receive the treatment and care they need. I know that for any future needs for a gynecologist I may have, Dr. Marinescu will be the doctor I visit first and foremost. Honestly he is so nice and amazing, that if I could, I would like him to be also my dentist, general doctor, dermatologist etc. And can't forget his staff. They are all such an amazing ladies. Thank you very much Dr. Marinescu for everything!

What can I say, number of stars does not possibly dictate the level of competency Dr Marinescu and his staff has shown. My wife went to Dr Marinescu with a level 4 endometriosis exhibiting a frozen pelvis and 3 different ovarian cysts ranging from 16cm, 5cm and 4cm in size that are giving her unbearable pain and fluctuating high temperatures for the past month. After visiting many other top rated OBGYNs around the OC and greater LA area (some of which are well reviewed and publicized) in hopes of solving her conundrum we are dumbfounded at some of the recommendations given. Plainly put it, while a few believe her condition is too great for them to treat and others are felt like they are just out for money, none had the confidence to acknowledge our main concern for the need to keep her ovary(s) so that we can have a greater chance at having children later. One well publicized doctor didn't even bother to look at her ultrasound and told us after meeting for 5 minutes that he will… have to cut her open down the middle due to the size of her cyst which would be impossible to remove via laparoscopy and that she also will likely lose one of her ovary for certain as the largest of the cysts has already enveloped it. While we understand that doctors never give out promises, we would have appreciated more positive attitude and reinforcement which goes a long way of foreshadowing his bedside manner we as patients all look for and that apparently had been a common negative reflection among other reviewers. Dr Marinescu on the other hand come well regarded from all the research that we have done and his calm demeanor facing my condition brought comfort and confidence to me that he will be able to do a good job. One 2 hour long laparoscopy and a 2 week recovery later, we are EXTREMELY happy to say that my wife is cyst free and she have BOTH of her ovaries in tact! Not only did Dr Marinescu diagnosed her condition correctly, he also accurately diagnosed the issue dealing with an infection that was causing the fluctuating temperatures related that need to be addressed prior to surgery which would have gave complications if not caught beforehand. His skillful execution with robotic surgery helped remove the large cyst without cutting her wide open, and of course help saved that particular ovary at the same time. His due diligence also made sure the surgery center staff was keeping a watchful eye on her while she stayed overnight at surgery center for post op recovery. I could not give enough recommendation for Dr Marinescu and his practice. I believe there is no condition too great or complex for him to handle. So if you are suffering from any particularly unique condition and are turmoiling over what to do or how to treat it. Call Dr Marinescu ASAP. And if you gain the level of trust in him as we have, you will not be disappointed in the result. We on the other hand have found our OBGYN for when me and my wife are expecting, and will see Dr Marinescu in the future on a more joyous note!

Tgus is a true medical practice in all respects. Professionalism, knowledge, skills, respect. I am a chronic patient and have had multidisciplinary treatments, I am educated myself in medical field and I don't grant reviews based only on pleasantness or appearance but Dr. Marinescu has earned all my respect and gratitude. I see he's well respected among his patients and that's totally deserved. I wish him to reach the highest, where he belongs!

Dr. Marinescu is the doctor that had my fibroids and heavy endometriosis removed from my uterus/ovaries. Great surgery, minimal invasion. Now, exactly 7 months later after the surgery I went back to the doctor pregnant. :) I am very happy with him and looking forward to my remaining 34 weeks of pregnancy in his care.

Dr. Marinescu is very attentive, knowledgeable and always managed to put my mind at ease even in the most difficult moments. I felt comfortable contacting him at any time, since I had a high risk pregnancy. I highly recommend Dr. Marinescu and I am greatful for his care.

I can't begin to explain what an experience I had with both Dr. Marinescu and his office staff (Adriana). Dr. Marinescu is tentative, caring and always there for his patients. He listens and answers all your questions and concerns. He is the only doctor I know that gives you his cell number to call or text him for any questions or concerns through out your pregnancy. He personally will call you and review your lab results and posts them online for you to see. He is flexible with appointments, he does the ultrasounds (probably the only dr i know who does them himself) He got me through my pregnancy and brought our little....(technically big, 10.5 lbs) baby into this world and we couldn't be happier!
