Dr. Catherine Michels Alonzo, MD

My 19-year old college student went to Dr. Alonzo to get to the bottom of very uncomfortable symptoms she has been dealing with for over 6 mos. She is a college student (goes to school in CA) who sought help when she was at school. Alonzo was annoyed at this, "too many cooks in the kitchen" ...what is the kid supposed to do?! Alonzo was dismissive, and interrupted her numerous times when she was trying to explain her history of tests she had already been through. She was RUDE, and rushed her out of the exam room, while she was giving instructions. I mean, could she have a little patience and compassion for a 19-year old kid who has to deal with this on her own. NEVER would I EVER recommend this doctor to ANYONE.

I sought Dr. Alonzo for a second opinion because she was a specialist in the urological disorder I was experiencing. I wasn't getting the proper care from my other urologist, and who had misdiagnosed me multiple times. I was frustrated. But, Dr. Alonzo spent a considerable amount of time diagnosing my issues, running a battery of tests on me, and determining the root cause of my problems. It wasn't easy, but she figured it out and spent the time to do so. She has an easy going personality and made me feel comfortable. I could tell her anything and felt at ease doing so. Importantly, she communicated clearly in English all of the medical diagnosis. She is now my primary urologist. I just wish she could be my doctor for the little things, like the common cough or cold.

Dr. Alonzo really listened to me, she was able to diagnose a problem that I had seen several other specialists for. She kept the number of tests to a minimum but was able to help me with just some dietary changes. I would recommend her to my family anytime.
