Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Crim, MD

Having an appointment with her is downright traumatizing. She is rude, condescending, and very aggressive.

This was the worst doctor expo I’ve ever had. I’m very young and haven’t had to visit a gyn before. This was my first time and she basically told me to not be a baby and to suck up all my problems because I’m a woman and these things happen. She was very cold and unfriendly. She finished the exam only to find there was indeed a problem and was very rude about it when I pointed that out. Her exam was very painful. I will not be returning to her.

Catherine Crim is the worst gynecologist I have visited. Her bedside manner is brusque; her ability to listen, nonexistent. After running behind with her appointments for an hour, she had the audacity to tell me that if I asked her any more questions she wouldn't have time to perform the procedure I had scheduled with her. Her poor scheduling left me rushed and uninformed. Her pelvic exams are painful--she performs them with no grace. She invalidates me and my mother, who have visited her on multiple separate occasions, and regularly maintains a snippy attitude. Look somewhere else for a professional--there are plenty of better options in the Portland area!

Not only was dr. Crim kind & compassionate during my visit, she took the time to explain every thing to me concerning my health issues. A rare quality in a doctor today.

I went to Dr. Crim years ago before having children. She can be abrubt at times but she is an excellent physician. She explains procedures so thoroughly and makes you feel comfortable. Then many years later, after having children, I decided to return to Dr. Crim. I received several cancer diagnosis's at the age of 35 and so wanted to talk about a prophylactic hysterectomy. She spent an hour in the office just talking over all my options. She also has called me at home to make sure I don't have any additional questions. She is caring and very thorough. Also, the pap smears and procedures I have had done with her seem effortless.

I had to have a colposcopy/biopsy of my cervix done. I was very nervous, and had not seen Dr. Crim before. She explained everything very thoroughly, and kept my attention throughout the entire procedure. Normally when they place the speculum inside of me, it's uncomfortable and slightly painful, but Dr. Crim was extremely gentle, and I didn't even feel it! The actual biopsy part was quick and easy. She said I would feel a little pinch, but I barely felt anything. Afterwards, she made sure I didn't have any questions. I didn't feel rushed at all. She was very friendly, and I'm actually shocked to read the other reviews saying she is cold. I would go to her for a regular pap smear because she did everything so effortlessly.

We were moving from Oregon to California back in 2011 and I went to do my last check up. She did pap smear and scratched me so bad that I develop a lot of pain and inflammation later and had to take a course of antibiotics. She was always very rude, cold and not caring. It is like she hated me for some reason every time I saw her. May be she hates her profession. She is the worst OB/GYN I have ever seen.

I was very impressed with Dr. Crim's thoughtful diagnosis and treatment. I was worried about being able to find a doctor I could have confidence in after moving here recently, and have been very pleased with the extremely thorough care I have received. Dr. Crim called to follow up in detail after test results were received and discussed treatment options with me in detail. I'm relieved to find someone of her ability in this area.

I should have taken the advice of the other person's post on this sight and canceled the appointment I had with this doctor. It took over an hour to see the doctor - what a waste of time. She is a ditz. Her explanations of my problem were just ridiculous. I know I have an infection and she said I didn't - gave me a few stupid things to do that were so off base and did NOTHING to help the problem. I had it diagnosed elsewhere and found that I was right and did have an infection and started treatment which helped immediately. I was so angry that I had to waste my time with her. The previous poster was right - she has very poor diagnostic skills and is a danger to her patients - I sure wouldn't want to depend on her to treat me for some life-threatening illness only to tell me that I was fine and nothing was wrong. She's so out of touch and so out to lunch.

I would not recommend this physician. Very uncaring.
