Dr. Catherine Allday Davis, MD

We took our newborn to see Dr. Catherine Allday Davis because he wasn’t feeling well, was crying uncontrollably, and we had concerns about his reflexes and a temperature of 99.5°F the previous day. As first time parents, we expected reassurance and guidance. Instead, when our baby started crying, we tried to calm him by snapping our fingers, and she said, “This is not going to help.” She then told us, “Just like before keeping dogs we read about dogs, you should read about babies.” What was most disappointing was that she did not provide any meaningful advice, explanation, or guidance about our concerns. We left feeling judged and dismissed rather than supported. This experience has affected my confidence in seeking medical care for my baby because I now worry about being looked down on for asking questions. First time parents need guidance, patience, and compassion, not judgment.
