Dr. Catherine M Guercio-Hauer, MD

I left Dr. Guercio-Hauer after a couple incidents. One, she charges separately for vaccines, promising to refund if your insurance pays. Doesn't happen. She steals the refund from the insurance and front desk says they will look into it and never call back. She owes me over $150. Also, she says she will only fill out school/ camp forms if you agree to expensive vaccines (so she can double-dip) otherwise, she charges $10 per page for her signature!

I left this Dr. Guercio-Hauer in 2013 due to a number of issues. Why did I wait so long to write a review? Because the issues are still bothering me. I was charged $100 up front to see the doctor and was told it had to be in cash. I still can't understand why as my insurance was in network with this physician. I was also told that I would get my money back after the insurance payment was made. I also received bills for the first and subsequent visits. The first visit was just talking. Then I was sent for lab work and had to come back for a second visit for the actual physical. Over a period of months I called the office and spoke with the front desk woman and asked about my refund. Each time she told me she would look into it. Never got a call back. I went to the office and there was another woman at the front desk. She told me she would look into it also. Never heard back. Months later, I called again and was told that there wasn't any money remaining. No… explanation.... I requested a statement. Never received one. The last straw was when I called the office and asked to speak with the doctor. Of course I had to explain the reason. I told her I needed to stop a medication I was taking for a situation it was causing that was having an effect on some dental work I was undergoing. The woman at the desk, refused to tell the doctor I wanted to speak with her and told me that I would have to come into the office to talk to her. I hung up and immediately searched for and found another physician who has been wonderful. I would NEVER go back to this physician. It seems quite unusual and a bit disconcerting why a patient with in network insurance has to pay $100 up front, in cash and also get billed, (and by the way the bill was a hand written bill with the date of service and the amount due...no other explanation.). Then being told that the $100 was used with no receipt or response to requests for an itemized bill.

Three months after seeing Dr. Delguercio as a new patient looking for a local PCP, I was suddenly and us expectantly diagnosed by another specialist with a life threatening condition which required multiple imminent surgeries. I tried calling her office, left messages with the receptionist and emailed the doctor. The receptionist said that the doctor would not talk to me over the phone, I had to make an appointment. With my sudden medical issues, being hospitalized for several weeks, not being able to drive, this was a big disappointment from a primary care physician. To this day I haven't heard a word, even though most of my medical records throughout the summer were copied to her. I have other issues too, questioning why cash payments are required up front when she is an in-network physician. I'm not talking deductibles here either. I was told to bring $150 cash to my first appointment.

I have a disease and I need a prescription. Unfortunately, this doctor is to incompetent to use a fax machine. If you choose to see doctor guercio-hauler be prepared for frustration and anger.

Had hoped to build a good relationship with a physician who would work with me but unfortunately this experience was not what I had hoped for.

Very interested in you and your problems not the clock. Staff very nice and friendly.

She spends more time than the average doctor, recognizes her areas of proficiency, makes excellent referrals, and has an outstanding bedside/professional manner
