Dr. Catherine S. Lachenauer, MD

Catherine Lachenauer, MD, is director of the Infectious Diseases Outpatient Practice and an associate physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Boston Children’s Hospital, as well as an assistant professor of pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. She specializes in pediatric infectious diseases, with expertise in bacterial infections, meningitis, endocarditis, and complex infectious conditions affecting children and adolescents. Dr. Lachenauer earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed her internship and residency at Wyler Children’s Hospital, followed by fellowship training in pediatric infectious diseases at Boston Children’s Hospital. Board certified in pediatric infectious diseases, her clinical and research work focuses on advancing diagnosis, treatment, and outpatient care for children with infectious diseases through evidence-based, multidisciplinary approaches.
