Dr. Catherine D Poterack, MD

My heart is broken to Recently discover that “kitty” ( Dr. Poterack) has left the Arcata area. My daughter was her first patient whe she moved to this area about 5 years ago and she is wonderful. She is thoughtful, genuine, down to earth and very thrurough. She is witty and kind to boot. A truly beautiful soul and Georgous outside as well, whom I suspect may be another unfortunate casualty in this area where a culture of elitism as well As a culture within the local inner medical professionals of misogyny and exclusivity coupled with the fact that the pay here is one of the lowest in the state and nation due to being in a state of economic failure. This usually means good medical professionals won’t come here or once they arrive never stay long. She is a blessing to be able to enjoy her care as a patient.

Dr. Poterack is brilliant, caring, and moral. She advocates for our kids, no matter what obstacles are thrown at her. She figures out the correct diagnosis when no one else can, and she insists on the needed tests, even when administrators try to cut corners. She cares for our kids as if they were her own. She has great bedside manner; she treats parents and kids with respect and love. She is the most dedicated and hard working doctor I've met.

She is such a smart, amazing lady. We really like her.
