Dr. Catherine Starr Watson, MD

I found Dr. Watson to be very good at explaining what might be happening in my uterus - the issue currently is thickening in the Endometrial lining - she has been very thorough asking questions - I am 77 and was fearful about cancer & what might be causing the thickening but also not wanting to get a hysterectomy unless truly necessary, but I would recommend Dr. Watson as she is really going through all the steps to help me make a good decision. She has told me all the possible complications with that procedure for someone of my age and the recovery process and I really appreciate that!

I came to this site after my visit. I saw her as a fill in gor my regular doctor. She was nice and helpful. Asked questions to get the best history and then was very proactive. She scheduled me for an ultrasound THAT DAY and called to make sure it happened. She ordered bloodwork as well. She followed up with me about my results and told me her opinion on the next steps as my result was abnormal. She contacted my regular doctor and made sure that I had rectgat followup. And, then I came here to see what others had thought. I'm upset because there is one, maybe 2, people who had a perception or experience of mot being seen/heard aor being belittled. And, that dame patient (or two) wrote multiple reviews about her bringing her overall rating falsely low. I have been with Kaiser as a patient almost all my life (had a few years when i was insured via non I've had non Kaiser). My experience was nothing but commendable, professional, and helpful. I wish this site did a better job about… multiple same patient entries. I liked her a lot and respected her demeanor and thoroughness.

Dr. Watson definitely did not care about her patients or about giving quality care. She was very judgmental at every appointment and made me feel stupid at every appointment. I had an easy, low-risk, healthy pregnancy and so my appointments should've been simple and without any patronizing lectures. Definitely not how I wanted to feel at one of the most exciting events of my life - being pregnant with my baby.

I feel like Dr. Watson has something against over weight people. Because the whole time I was her patient she constantly fat shamed me and made me feel bad about myself.

I was a new patient of Dr. Watson, I had her for the length of my pregnancy. I’ve never been treated so poorly. I had a lot of health scares with this pregnancy and she made me feel like crap the whole time. I hated going to my appointment with her because she spend the whole time fat shaming me and making me feel horrible about myself. After I had my child I told her over and over I had an infection and she would not take me seriously, well guess what I got tested and I ended up have an infection. As soon as she discharged me from my pregnancy I switched right away. Her and Kaiser have done nothing but turn a scary wonderful time in my life into a nightmare. Dr. Watson needs to learn how to treat people with dignity and respect instead of a number on her pay check!!!

My first experience with kaiser was not what I expected. Catherine Watson was my ob for pregnancy and I have now decided to find a new doctor due to her approach. I was excessively preached to about my obesity and weight gain during pregnancy. Each visit I was lectured for an inappropriate amount of time about my weight. I dreaded going to each appointment and my head hung low after every one ended. I am now in the middle of my pregnancy and want to feel taken care of during my next appointments not judged so I have found a new doctor. I hope she can get some constructive criticism from this review, because I think if she begins to see her patients as more than a number on the scale, she could be a great physician.

Most of my appointments I felt like I was not heard and like action was not taken when I expected it to be. I stuck with her for a decade as my OBGYN and through 2 pregnancies. She always acted like nothing I was feeling was ever valid and she always seemed to fit me into text book descriptions. I do not feel like she customized my care to my individual needs. Even while I was pregnant with my two kids, she criticized my weight through the entire pregnancy, both times! She would pull out this chart and say, "You are this tall, so you should way this much. And you should only gain this much during pregnancy". I always dreaded going to my prenatal appointments because I didn't want to be told how "Obese" I was. I only gained 20 lbs with my second pregnancy and she still had the nerve to call me obese and she recorded it in my health records! I am 5'5" and on average weigh 165. I don't consider myself obese. Overall, I just felt like she never listened and treated me like I was… another number in her list of patients to meet with. I also felt like she spoke condescendingly and overall made me feel uncomfortable.
