When I chose medicine as a career, I knew family medicine was just the right field for me. It allows me to care for patients of all ages, and to focus on preventive medicine. I love helping patients feel better when they are ill, but if I can prevent them from getting sick, that's even better. Whether it's providing a vaccine or suggesting a lifestyle change to positively impact their health, I find it rewarding every time I get to help a patient pave the way to a healthier, more active life. \n I see my patients as people, not diagnoses. I want to get to know them and what's important to them. This helps me understand their reasons for staying healthy and makes it easier for me to look for ways they can improve their health while surrounded by the people and activities they love. \n In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my husband and our two rescue dogs.
