Dr. McCoy began her medical career in 1988 as a Registered Nurse in West Virginia. With over three decades of patient care, she is an excellent addition to the Colorado Injury and Pain team. Dr. McCoy earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice, specializing in chronic pain management, from West Virginia University. She holds a dual Masters in Nurse Administration and Nursing Education from Mountain State University in West Virginia. She has certification as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and Emergency Room Nurse Practitioner. She was trained in ultrasound guidance in trigger point and joint injections at the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada.Dr. McCoy and her husband enjoy the outdoor lifestyle that Colorado offers. They are avid hikers, bikers, and campers. They are also registered volunteers of the Colorado State Parks. They love to assist in the upkeep of such a beautiful state.
