Meet Dr. Santone
Cathy Santone DDS graduated with honors, Cum Laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry in 1995. She has enjoyed practicing dentistry in Encinitas, CA since graduating from UCLA. Dr. Santone is passionate about creating beautiful and natural smiles for her patients while providing a relaxed and comfortable dental experience from their first dental visit. She specializes in conservative aesthetic and cosmetic restorative dental treatment, and strives to educate each patient through the use of technological advancements such as digital photography and an interactive online practice.
To support the welcoming atmosphere of her cosmetic dentistry practice, Dr. Santone has surrounded herself with a highly skilled and gentle dental team. Our team is comprised of three registered dental hygienists, two experienced Registered Dental Assistants, a professional and courteous Office Manager, and an additional front office assistant. To further ease …and protect our patients’ overall experience with our cosmetic dentistry practice, we use an advanced dental software system to keep thorough and accurate patient records. With the Dentrix dental software, our office is a green dental office, striving for a paperless environment, while already employing various green technologies, such as LED curing lights.

Dr. Cathy Santone became an Accredited Member of the prestigious American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in February 2004. At the time, she was 1 of 10 in San Diego County and the only female in San Diego County, and 1 of 302 in the United States.
Currently, she serves as committee chairwoman for the AACD Membership Benefits and Recognition Committee, and has served as President and Treasurer in the past. Dr. Santone also serves on the Board of Directors of the Southwest Affiliate of the AACD in San Diego. In addition, she remains committed to the practice of dentistry and continues to further her education and training with over 60 hours of continuing education courses each year, while the California Dental Board requires 50 hours every two years. Dr. Santone also participates in the “Give back a Smile” program through the AACD, which provides free dental care and cosmetic reconstructions for victims of domestic violence.
When not creating beautiful smiles or furthering her education as well as her patients’ comfort, she enjoys being close to the ocean while sailing, swimming, running, and scuba diving. She especially loves traveling and has recently started practicing yoga. Above all else, Dr. Santone enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Scott, and son, Devon.
