Dr. Celia Valenzuela

Dr. Valenzuela is very professional. I liked the way she takes her time to explain any procedure or medical issues same as for prescriptions.

Doctor Valenzuela delivered my first child, and she was the best doctor I could have asked for. Ill be going back to her for baby #2!

I had scheduled an appointment at UMC South Campus because I was in severe pain and had the appointment for 3:00 p.m. We drove an hour from Rio Rico, my hubby had to call in sick at his work so he could drive me. When we got to UMC South Campus, they had told me that the appointment had been cancelled. The clerk talked to Dr. Celia P. Valenzuela and explained the situation to see if she could see me, and this Horrible Dr. refused to see me. I ended up going to urgent care paid my copays, and was told to go see an OB/GYN Dr. the next day where I would have to pay another copay as if money grew on trees. I am submitting a formal complaint against Dr. Valenzuela and UMC South Campus, stay away from these two. UMC's motto is "to provide outstanding and compassionate services" and there was nothing outstanding and compassionate about the way I was treated.

The one visit I had with her, she was totally unprofessional and rude. I only went to her because the Dr. I had been seeing for years didn't take my new insurance. What a mistake that was. I saw her one time, and she was chomping at the bit to perform two separate biopsy procedures on me. This has never even been suggested once in my entire life by my former Dr. What bugged me the most about her were the inappropriate comments she made about my anatomy. Had there been a nurse in the room with us, I doubt she would have made those comments. I would never go back to her, and would never recommend her.

Dr. Valenzuela is a God sent. She made me feel like we were life time friends and would fit me in no matter how tight her schedule or take as much time with me as I needed. She made me feel so comfortable. This is my first baby but I will stay with Dr. V as my GYN and my OB for all my births. As an added bonus her staff was almost as wonderful as she is.

After reviewing what dr we wanted we were unable to get an appt with him, so we settled for this Dr. Valenzuela. After telling her that we did not want an ultrasound of the baby and that one of the reasons we changed dr's was because the previous dr was trying to strong arm us into getting one. She asked us 4 times after that if we wanted an ultrasound!We then asked her if she could use a fetoscope to which she responded "that's old technology..no one uses that anymore..i don't believe we have one". After a little heated debate on what the proper procedure of care is when something like that is requested by a patient to which she said something to the effect that it's not her job to go out of her way to find one for us. She finally left the room, asked one of the medical assistants and returned with a fetoscope. She is a poor doctor and would not recommend her.

We loved Dr. Valenzuela. She was amazing; warm, caring, friendly and willing to go above and beyond. There are some drawbacks to the group's system. For example you have to see all of the doctors, they push Juice Plus ad nauseum, and try to pressure you to come to a week night presentation that is tough when you work, have kids, etc. However Dr. Valenzuela is worth it, and if we get pregnant again, we'll go back!
