The absolute best doctor. He saved my eye sight.

If you want to be seen quickly, you need a very early appt, 7:30-8:30. He's a very smart compassionate doctor. Glaucoma pts often need extra tests so there can be a very long time spent there unless you get there early. I trust my eyes with him.

if you have glaucoma then the NYEE is the place to go and Dr Tello is THE best specialist. i have been going there for almost 20 years- my mom and myself- if you want the best then the office wait is well worth it. the Glaucoma Institute has many fellowships to help provide more glaucoma specialists and the Fellows take the basic information for Dr. Tello to allow him to spend more time with the patients' urgent problem. He has always taken the time to answer all questions and takes a sincere interest in the patient as a total person. One look around the office at all the many people who are being helped to retain their sight is certainly plenty of reason to overlook any wait time to be seen.maybe those who complain about waiting should consider the alternative of going blind and they might change their outlook.

I spent almost 5 hours at the 14 St. location being sent from one floor to another. Finally after seeing about 5 different assistants the time to see Dr. Celso arrived. He spent about 1 minute with me since he appeared to be rushing for a meeting. Without looking at my record or my eyes at all, he put me on eye drops because the pressure was high according to the doctor that checked me before him. The pressure was actually lower than the last time I saw him when he indicated that even if it was high, I did not need drops because my cornea was very thick. I was and remain extremely upset with this lack of concern for a patient time. I also feel trapped because the have done every test available. I have concerns with changing doctor since any new doctor will want to do all these tests again and I do not know how the insurance carrier will respond. This doctor may be very qualified but his absolute disregard for the patient's interest and concerns leaves a lot to be desired.
