My Dad was in Saratoga Hospital for anemia. Several red flags with the care. First is that no scopes are done on weekends unless they are emergent. My Dad who is 82 years old and known polyp and avm’s from a previous scope in mid April this year. Insisted on gastroscope first, then when that was negative (the gastroscope in April being negative as well) then does a complete bowel prep with Golytly. When he did the scope he cauterized two avm’s but refused to take out the polyp that was seen. As if that wasn’t bad enough he then said Dr Herlihy (my Dad’s gastroenterologist)should have not attempted to take the polyp out with a scope and that if he was my Father’s gastroenterologist he would have recommend surgery. He didn’t even try to talk to any of the family or call us to let us know how the procedures went. Poor doctoring all the way around.
