He has a high degree of passion for his profession and the training of future surgeons which has led to his involvement in the direct training of physicians in residency training and numerous contributions to foot and ankle educational platforms. He is also a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery, one of the professions most influential journals.Raised in NJ, Dr Rappaport received his bachelor's degree and doctorate in podiatric medicine and surgery in Des Moines, IA at Des Moines University Medical Center. Following his graduation he returned to his home state of NJ to begin a highly respected and vigorous surgical residency program focused entirely on reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle in Hoboken and Jersey City.Upon graduation Dr Rappaport worked for a large orthopaedic group in PA before returning to NJ to join another large orthopaedic group where he served as the Chief of the Foot and Ankle line. Dr Rappaport recently relocated to the Hudson Valley where his family resides after his daughter moved out of state to attend college. He joins Westchester Medical Center family eagerly looking to bring his passion for treating the foot and ankle and his compassion for helping patients live a better life.Dr Rappaport has one child, his daughter, who he raised on his own and is currently in college. His interests outside of work include hiking with his dog, golfing, skiing, playing basketball and generally just being outside and keeping fit.
