Dr. Chad Hamilton Smith, MD

The office staff was very nice. But Dr. Smith's approach is quite lackluster. My family member lives alone and I wanted to be with him when he received his results. Dr. Smith just called him one afternoon, unscheduled and my family member HOME ALONE to let him know that he had a cancer diagnosis. That is the most callous, uncaring approach I could ever expect from a healthcare provider. NOT impressed, he has a lot of recovery to do after this for me to entrust my loved one to his care.

Dr Smith showed concern the entire time he was treating my son. He continued to run tests until he found Leukemia in my son. He called us and told us to head to Shadyside Hospital immediately. A couple of hours later that evening. He called to check on us! Amazing man.

I’m completely underwhelmed by the care and follow-up from Chad Smith, my father’s oncologist. He chooses to take a hands off approach with the long-term care of patients in maintenance mode and chooses not to interact directly with family members in need I’m not impressed!
