Dr. Chad Smoker, MD

He has always been there when I needed him, if he was booked up, he always worked me.

This is a review of the office which has his name on it. I have not actually seen Smoker. I called this office to find out if they could administer my weekly allergy shot (my allergist is in Johnson City TN and I was driving back and forth weekly). I was told yes and I would have to establish as a patient (what that meant was not explained--see below what that means). During the intake by the nurse, I provided all my medical doctors' (3) information and again stated I just needed to receive local allergy shots. I was told again I could receive them at this office. At the conclusion of the intake, someone (not the same person who took the information) came in and asked me who my primary care doctor was--I stated either the JC PA or the Urgent Care walkin. An hour after leaving the office, I received a voicemail stating the office manager said I would need to become a patient which the caller explained as transfer all medical information (3 doctors!) my quarterly lab work currently… being ordered by the JC PA, my yearly exam, etc., to this office! So I would have to quit receiving the care from my current providers (or double bill BCBS)!! AND I would not be receiving the same care because this office does not perform the same specific service as my JC PA. Needless to say if "establishing as a patient" had been better explained to me, I would never have spent $30, an hour of my time, AND BCBS would never have paid this office $125.14 for a one-time visit for an allergy shot ($155.14 is what they received for these shots which are normally billed at $40)! Save yourself the trouble and go to CELO Health Center--as of this date they have 4 stars out of 19 reviews (vs this places 3 stars out of 8 reviews).

My wife and I have been going to Dr Smoker for ten years or longer. He, as well as his staff, have always been very professional. I have recommended him numerous times to others. His office is clean. The wait time is usually less than ten minutes. His friendly staff will try to work you in if your problem is urgent. He offers Saturday appointments if you are sick. He has made appropriate referrals to other doctors when necessary. In a recent incident involving my wife, in which the initial exam results indicated the possibility of cancer, his staff went "beyond the call of duty" to quickly obtain additional competent radiologist support, following which, Dr Smoker quickly made the appropriate referral to an oncologist.

What kind of Dr. takes a patient back and doesn't let the caretaker of the patient go back. The caretaker has took care of the patient for over 2yrs. and knows more about the medication than the patient and I was needing to talk to the Dr. about some of the medication being to strong and some of it changing he total attitude. But Dr. Smoker would not let me back with the patient and I am actually living with the patient taking really good care of him. Tina the nurse was very rude and a smart butt if you ask me . The patient was very upset because I wasn't allowed to go back with the patient and while we were waiting my husband went to the store and told some guys he was mad and why, everyone in the store said they can't stand smoker. If he smiled he face might crack. Anyway the patient came out and none the less very p'd off about them not letting me go back, and Tina your not all that so stop acting like you are. Also when I was at one of my Drs. appointment see I used to have to see… smoker because my DR. left and he took over for him long story short I really didn't like him, but back to the point I was in my Drs. office and this man was talking really loud and I was in the room beside him and I heard my DR. say why did you leave smoker, he replied he's rude ,will not have a conversation with you and he said he plain out just didn't like him. But often enough you mention Dr. Smokers name all I've ever heard was they didn't like smoker or couldn't stand him and I am one of them and anyone that has ever seen him you know and there are people who sets in waiting area talking about how they didn't like him either. So there you go if you were wondering ,wonder no more for now you know my and other opinions.

Like talking to a zombie. Never remembers me from my previous visit or who he as referred me to. Basically a blank.
