Dr. Chadwick Bryce Bowling, MD

I cannot in good conscience recommend Dr. Bowling to anyone seeking care, particularly for elective procedures. My experience with him, involving a routine prolapse surgery, resulted in severe, chronic nerve damage that has permanently altered my life. Dr. Bowling placed vault suspension sutures that caused significant nerve entrapment. Despite my clear and detailed reports of excruciating pain following the surgery, Dr. Bowling was dismissive and defensive, insisting that no action he had taken could possibly cause nerve damage. His refusal to acknowledge the possibility of injury was not only unprofessional but dangerous. I was effectively gaslighted by Dr. Bowling, whose response to my symptoms ranged from contentious to downright arrogant. He stated, “It’s impossible. It’s as if you’re complaining about pain in your left arm and your surgery was done on your right arm.” He insisted, “There’s no way you could have nerve damage from this surgery.” He then questioned me, “Who… diagnosed you with a nerve injury?” On my final appointment with him —while he exaggerated a minor disc hernia that was not related to my symptoms— he said, “What do you want? There’s nothing I can do!” His unwillingness to consider the actual cause of my suffering forced me to seek a second opinion, which led to the discovery of the nerve damage and an urgent corrective surgery. The second surgery, which involved the removal of the sutures, provided partial relief from debilitating symptoms like fecal incontinence, electric shock-like pains, and involuntary spasms. However, the months of delayed treatment resulted in irreversible damage—permanent nerve and tissue injury that I understand could have been avoided had Dr. Bowling acted with diligence and responsibility. Before this surgery, I was healthy, athletic, and worked a physically demanding job. Now, I suffer from debilitating pain, atrophy in my pelvic floor, weakness in my right foot, and ongoing sacral nerve root compression. My life has been drastically diminished—physically, emotionally, and financially—due to Dr. Bowling’s negligence and dismissiveness. I strongly urge anyone considering surgery to do thorough research and find a physician who listens, acknowledges their mistakes, and is committed to patient well-being. Dr. Bowling’s failure to take responsibility for his actions has left me with permanent disability, ongoing medical expenses, and an overall loss of quality of life. The price of your health cannot be overstated—ensure you’re in the hands of a surgeon who prioritizes your safety and care.

It's difficult to put into words what an incredible physician Dr. Bowling and his team have been for my mother. After having a complication with another surgeon at another hospital, Dr. Bowling took over her care. We are so glad he did. He literally saved her life. Not only that, his compassion and communication were unparalleled. My mother was at the hospital for two months. He saw her every single day, including weekends. He was so compassionate and caring. He sat with her every day and listened to her concerns. He called family members every day to make sure we understood what was going on and made sure all of our questions were answered. He managed the whole team of specialists that were participating in her care. He performed an incredibly challenging, life-saving surgery that other doctors didn't think could be done. Even after discharge he still checked in on us.

As a medical professional myself, I searched and searched for the right surgeon to fix my incontinence issue. I found Dr. Bowling....I read over his reviews....even researched his training and experience. The 5 star reviews are dead on. He is fantastic. My problem is fixed. I no longer leak. I have no pain or discomfort 6 weeks out from my surgery. I am amazed that I put the problem off for so long. I was so busy taking care of my own patients that I had neglected to take care of myself. I'm glad I finally took the time to address this. My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner. Bravo, Dr. B!

I had a prolapse and incontinence surgery with Dr. Bowling 6 weeks ago. He was knowledgable, patient and caring. His staff was pleasant as well. So glad I finally decided to move forward with the surgery. I feel like dancing!

I came to this MD with complete bladder prolapse, pelvic pain. I did not expect such a good surgical result, and was amazed. Dr Bowling answered all my questions especially about sling procedure about which I had concerns since reading problems with this procedure. He was able to assure me of his training and experience. I have no problems after surgery--no pain, no leaks. Can not thank him and staff enough. I would advise any woman to go to him earlier than I--go when you first have any leaking or prolapse or pain, and don't wait.

I had a terrible complication from mesh that a doctor just outside of Knoxville put in me 4 years ago, and I've basically been suffering for 4 years. Pain, bleeding, trouble in the bedroom...you name it, I had it. My family doctor referred me to Dr. Bowling in the fall of 2015. 6 months later, I'm pain free. Dr. Bowling performed a "mesh excision surgery" on me and I was able to go home the same day. I now have no bleeding, no more sharp, stabbing pain and things in the bedroom are finally back to normal. Now if I'd only found Dr. Bowling 4 years ago......... He is fantastic, and I have already sent some of my friends to see him. If you have mesh issues, or leakage problems, GO SEE HIM!

Dr. Bowling really healed me, he's such a good caring surgeon. The surgery wait time is long, but the two staff members in the front, Katie and Elaine, were so wonderful. I would definitely recommend this office to a friend.

Staff member Elaine has a bad attitude. Staff cannot keep appointments track of appointments.

I had major repair surgery done by Dr. Bowling and if I could rate him 10 stars I would. He was very careful and thoughtful in his approach to a very serious situation. He personally called me to check on me; and his staff is excellent as well.
