Dr. Chance Kolhmeyer

Chance Kolhmeyer is a Resident in Counseling who specializes in working with adults. A large portion of Chance’s experience has consisted of working with the college population where she has gained an extensive understanding of life experiences, transitions, and disorders within this stage of life. She has a history of working with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relational issues, suicidal ideation, self-harm, self-esteem issues, adjustment disorders, day-to-day stress, and time management. Chance completed her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Applied Psychology at Florida Institute of Technology and her Master of Arts (MA) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Geneva College. She is a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Chance has had a passion for helping others since the seventh grade and has been looking forward to working in the field ever since. She believes it is important to identify all aspects of an individual’s life that impact their wellbeing including their …physical health, support systems, work or school environment, and faith/spirituality in this process. Chance creates a warm and welcoming environment. She utilizes a variety of techniques and skills drawn from recognized therapeutic modalities including narrative therapy, solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness. She takes the time to explore and educate the client on which therapy might be the best fit for them, understanding that everyone is unique, so what may work for some may not work for others. Chance feels blessed to be able to help people through life’s trials and tribulations. Throughout your therapeutic experience, it is her hope to find something that works well for you. Chance thoroughly believes in self-care, and therapy is one of the best tools for it!
