Dr. Chandan R Kundavaram

I have been a patient of Dr Kundavaram for the last year. Although he is a competent doctor, he spends very little time with his patients. In fact, you only really get to see him once unless you are having surgery, otherwise you see one of his PA’s for all pre-op/follow-up appointments. His surgery scheduler is the absolute worst. She doesn’t return phone calls and is quite rude when you do get her on the phone. Her attitude doesn’t support patient comfort. Be prepared to wait 6-7 weeks before she calls you to schedule a surgery. I had a procedure scheduled and she forgot to call me the day before with my arrival time. Her attitude doesn’t support patient comfort. Very disappointed in the way I have been treated and have since transferred to a new urologist in Deer Valley. AUUA treats you like a number. The wait times are ridiculous as well.

I was referred to Dr Kundavaram after being diagnosed with prostate cancer as a second opinion. My original doctor recommended radiation because of the size of my prostate but I was interested in surgery. He sat with me honestly and explained all of the pluses and minuses of surgery. I felt comfortable knowing he would take good care of me and I felt confident in his ability after talking it through with him and decided to do surgery. Surgery went great. I left the hospital the next day without too much pain. The catheter was annoying but expected. I found out that all the cancer was removed! I am now recovering and getting better thanks to his care and skills. I highly recommend him if you need a urologist! -WL

Dr. Kundavaram is great! He was able to remove a large kidney stone from a very difficult location. Many prior procedures had failed to do so. He's very easy to talk to and very thorough. I highly recommend him.

I was referred to Dr. K for worsening urinary issues. He took time to listen to my issues. He was thorough in evaluating the problem and gave me multiple options. I didn't feel pressured at all. I decided to have a surgery and it was smooth. Problems solved. I was extremely impressed and happy with each step of the process. I highly recommend Dr. K if you need to see a urologist.

Relocated from New York and had difficulty finding an Urologist who took interest in my care. Dr. Kundavaram provided precise medical attention and made me feel comfortable. I highly recommend him.

The experience with Dr C. Kundavaram on left kidney, partial nephrectomy by robotic surgery was excellent, with minimal discomfort. A suspected small renal cell carcinoma was negative. Dr. Kundavaram is the best.

I would recommend Dr Kundavaram to anyone that needs a urologist. He found an abnormality during an exam of my prostate and then he performed a biopsy which found cancer. I was distraught over the diagnosis. He went over all of the options and I decided to go with robotic surgery to remove my prostate and lymph nodes. He performed the surgery and I was home in less than 24 hours. I only took one pain pill. Most importantly, all of the cancer was removed! I have healed well and I'm back to normal. I believe I have his skills to thank for this! See him if you have an issue you will not regret it.

Dr. "K" is simply amazing! From my first visit when I was referred for a kidney tumor, through the testing, surgery, and follow up visits I could not be more happy. He performed my surgery using a robot and small incisions. He was able to expertly remove only the tumor and save the rest of the kidney (previous doctor said I would need the whole kidney removed). I was out of the hospital the next day! My follow up tests show that I am cancer free and I feel great! I will admit, that you may wait a bit to be seen. But, he is very thorough and when you see him he spends all the time you need answering questions and explaining the plan. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a urologist!

Dr Kundavaram restored my life. I’d had a ureter stent for 5 years requiring replacement. Every 2-3 months. Following the 13th surgery I knew it was past time I have surgery. I was referred to Dr Kundavaram and knew immediately I was in good hands. He’s so kind and took time to let me know what was ahead for me. The surgery was performed over a year ago, and I’ve had no problems since. I still see him every six months to make sure all is well. I will be eternally grateful to him, and would highly recommend him to anyone who is undecided on the surgery. Dr K is the best, so don’t hesitate to have it done. It can restore your life as welll.
