In July 2023 I went to the ER at warren location with chest pains and low blood pressure. I had had all the necessary tests prior to this from my cardiologist at the time. All of which showed nothing. My cardiologist(not a Henry Ford Cardiologist) told me it was all in my head and told me I needed to maybe see someone for anxiety. Then I met an ER Doctor named Dr Chantel Mimms who cared enough to ask questions and listen when no one else would. She had heard that my cardiologist thought it was nothing, but Dr Mimms was not convinced. She looked concerned and asked me not to leave as I was frustrated and ready to leave at any minute. She looked at me and told me that she knew something was seriously wrong. She went to the desk and was on the phone with my cardiologist. Although I couldn’t tell what was being said, I could tell she wasn’t giving up. She wasn’t giving up on me. She had managed to have me scheduled for an emergency diagnostic cardiac catheter where the surgeon found out… exactly how critical my health had become. The surgeon then told my husband that I was in bad shape and needed to have an emergency open heart surgery. This led to me having a triple bypass and an inoperable right coronary artery that was almost completely blocked. Dr Mimms instincts were not only right, they were also spot on. Because of her instinct, determination and dedication to her patients I am alive today. That is a debt I can never repay and will forever be grateful to this wonderful ER Doctor.
